It is like this:
competition = fighting to get a piece of the cake. creativity = let them fight, go bake more cakes! You can see creative businesses everywhere. Every business that has a research & development department. When Shell Oil saw how environmentalist started to 'win' they shifted and started solar-energy-, hydrogen- and other projects. When the local grocer didn't want to compete with the big supermarket, he started to give more service and deliver at home, cook fresh meals. When a new product is launched it is healthy for the business to have some 'competitors' in the market, because they help expand this new market. This is often also called 'competition' but it isn't. It is 'winning a market' allright, but without 'killing' competitors. More life to all and less to none. Greetings, Anne T |

The reason people go into business is not because they want to compete, they go into business because they believe they can better serve some group of customers. The competitive aspect comes later.
The origin of the word competition is Latin and means "strive for together". True competition expands markets, it's not about beating each other up. Mr. Wattles "more for all" is more than a truism. 30 years ago there were no PC's. Now we communicate daily with people all over the world on the internet. That is the result of creativity. |

“So I'm going to take my criticism back and leave it at that.”
..”this will be the last time I respond to any posts asking for recommendations or questions about other works sending out any negative thought “ Great Awareness, David! Thanks for post you change of mind. I’m wondering what caused that. Would it be the right motive, which is more life to all, and less to one”? Hernán. "I receive my riches in exact proportion to the definiteness of my vision, the fixity of my purpose, the steadiness of my faith, the depth of my gratitude and my actions strong & efficient" |

Hi Joan
My interpretation of this is that i would carry on with the guidelines given in the book in how i carry out my days and leave the competition to those who choose that road Good luck to you Al |

In my job I see customers daily. I choose to be enthusiastic, go the extra mile until they are totally satisfied, I encourage them, I choose to see more customers rather than sitting in a co-worker's office chatting, and so on. I don't base how I do my job on how the majority does theirs. Now, my supervisor may count up number of people seen and evaluate service and such. I may get more customers requesting me. My full use of my energy and talents let me do a great job and be rewarded all without me competing with others. I've found that working this way has immense personal and financial rewards. It's not about basing your performance on what others are doing (unless you admire a particular technique or trait) but on fullfilling your own place. |

One example:
I am a graphic designer. I desire for a certain amount of money. I tried to win some jobs from different sources. I did not try to compete with ad agencies and design houses. Today a Government organization called me for a meeting to train their memebers of publishing departments. We had a very fruitful meeting and I am gratefully looking for the results with great faith. Am I not bringing more life for more people? "Do not forget for a moment that the thinking substance is through all, in all, communicating with all, and can influence all. The desire of thinking substance for fuller life and better living" bring you what you want, not by so called dog-eat-dog competition. Tapash |
