I signed up for the practical geniuses course and am amidst reading the SOGR book. In awe of what i have read so far (I'm at chapter 6), childishly happy and impatient, devouring every word, believing it all, without resistance (i accept all to be true what mr. Wattles has written) yet it, up till now, just doesn't seem to really sink in. It's as if I am scratching a surface, so hard that it won't let the information seep through. Any ideas or advice? I appreciate it,

Prosperity, Love and abundance to all.

Hello Desiree and welcome to the course! You made a very good decision to join!

I haven't heard of many people who 'got it' on the first read-through. So that's okay and give yourself time.

I would suggest to really think about what you read. You will find the course a very good help for that as well.

I have to confess that the first time I ever read the book, I read the whole thing in one session! I found it so fascinating. I have come back to it many times since.

If you are currently at chapter 6, you are in for some very good stuff in coming chapters! When you start thinking and acting in a certain way, I'm sure things will start to become more clear to you.

Then you will see that you only have to scratch the surface a little to see a beautiful 'alternate reality'. Wink

I hope these words from The Netherlands (Yes I'm sort of your upstairs neighbour Big Grin ) have helped you some.

As you read, think of examples from your own life of the things he is saying.

Thanks guys. Now at chapter 9 I already get it a little more clearly but am (though i know i shouldn't be) worried that i don't quite make the cut. Mr. Wattles says that if one isn't really totally 100% sure that one wants to get rich, then one won't. I want to get rich, but not at any price, if you know what i mean. And my CMI? how does one figure out the difference in what one REALLY desires and what one just would like to have? Can I have several CMI's at the same time? Only for myself or for my kids as well? Confused and uncertain that i fit the profile I again ask for advice.

Hello again Desiree,

First of all: relax! You don't need to 'qualify'. Worrying is counter-productive. Next time you start to worry ask yourself: Okay, what can I learn here? And then focus on something that feels a little bit better.

Here is a quote from SOGR from Chapter 5:

quote:
You can make the most of yourself only by getting rich, so it is right and praiseworthy that you should give your first and best thought to the work of acquiring wealth.
Remember, however, that the desire of substance is for all, and its movements must be for more life to all. It cannot be made to work for less life to any, because it is equally in all, seeking riches and life.

Intelligent substance will make things for you, but it will not take things away from someone else and give them to you.

You must get rid of the thought of competition. You are to create, not to compete for what is already created.

You do not have to take anything away from anyone. You do not have to drive sharp bargains.
You do not have to cheat or to take advantage. You do not need to let anyone work for you for less than he earns. You do not have to covet the property of others or to look at it with wishful eyes. No one has anything of which you cannot have the like, and that without taking what he has away from him.

You are to become a creator, not a competitor. You are going to get what you want, but in such a way that when you get it every other person whom you affect will have more than he has now.

That's a relief, isn't it?

Imagine that the thing you want is already yours. See yourself being, doing or having the thing of your desire. If you feel great doing that, you are on the right track.

I think your CMI can be composed of all kinds of aspects combined. You can figure out over time what works best for you -- to focus on one at the time or more.

You can have CMI's that include your children as well, as far as your own experience with them is concerned.

That's how I look at things. I'm pretty sure others will jump in as well! Big Grin

Desiree, welcome!

Stop worrying! Wally (our pet-name for Mr Wattles) does not ask us to worry. And he does not advise us to compromise our values in order to get rich. More for all, less to none - I see only winners in that statement!

Fit the profile? There is no profile, because the SOGR will work for people of all ages, nationalities etc. All we need to do is be willing to accept it on face value and change our thoughts.

Just keep on reading the book, and when you have read it all, read it again. Reading it often will be helpful in better understanding the meaning of everything. And the Lifelabs of course. We just need to accept that it will take a bit of time before everything sinks in.

Hi Desiree and Welcome abroad !

Firstly I would suggest to read the whole book, do the on line course and in the meantime re- read the book until you get what you really want.

I have lost count on how many times I have read the book, the paragraphs, certain chapters or sentences I have highlighted that really resonate with me. Then why don't you need attempt to experience the outcome for yourself. Try a small CMI of something you desire (really feel like it) and see for yourself. I don't mean to put you off however I have had my SOGR book for over 2 yrs and still pick it up and re-read it, I use it like a bible.

Some of my CMI's come to reality so fast I couldn't stop laughing and others are still coming.

So relax and create !

Love to you all

Hi again!
I want to say thanks for helping me and giving me advice. I definitely am taking all in and using your advice already. I finished SOGR last night for the first time and will be starting chapter 1 again this evening. I find that reading just before going to sleep it "sticks" in my mind better.
Thanks again!
