We know that Wallace Wattles has mentioned in the introduction that the philosophical basis of The Science of getting rich is similiar to the teachings of the great philosopher Descartes.
In his famous work The Passions of the Soul, Descartes refers to gratitude as

"The good, which has been by others, causes us to bear goodwill to them, although it were not done to us. And if it be done to us, to goodwill we add gratitude."

I hope this will be of help to many of you.

Thanks,
Samim

Thanks Samim for posting this quote.

Hi Alison,
For me as an artist, that's easy. I am grateful that I have:
eyes to see with
hands to create with
clay to form
paint to create with
legs with which I can walk
food to eat
friends to talk to...etc.

I start that way, and the gratitude sort of grows from there.

Love and Light,
Julia

See..how Wattles tells "Never allow yourself to feel disappointed"Turmoil and related feelings originate mostly when we are in the competitive plane whether knowingly or unknowingly.
And Wattles says when you are in the competitive plane you have lost the co operation of the Supreme power.
In such a circumstance its evident that communicating with the Supreme Power with gratitude becomes difficult.
Make sure that always while applying the Science of getting rich bring yourself and your thoughts entirely to the creative plane.

And you will be able to unite yourself with the formless intelligence only when you are in the creative plane, and only then the feeling of gratitude comes naturally to you.

Being in the creative plane means thinking of the common good, the fact that the invisible supply is abundant and inexhaustible...
and make sure of this important point
"Never to look for the visible supply"

So the answer to your post is to first get into the creative plane and slowly unite yourself with the Supreme Power. You will then see the feeling of gratitude flowing freely and good things coming to you in incresing numbers.

Thanks,
Samim
