You know how Wally says in SOGR:

"Nature is an inexhaustible storehouse of riches; the supply will never run short. Original substance is alive with creative energy, and is constantly producing more forms."

Well, here's a fun example:

Gee, I've been following the biofuel craze that seems to have been happening for the last several years with the idea of establishing biofuel production locally for employment purposes. That is biofuel from treated effluent and not food crops.

I actually thought that hydrogen fuelled cars were a bit "pie in the sky" from a practical sense, so this was a real eye opener.

Hmmm! At the rate (sustainable) biofuel development is going, I might be better off going for hydrogen production. Yeah, yeah, I don't know the first thing about it, but now that I've got the THOUGHT, WHO KNOWS!!!

Cool post! (Sorry if I've gone off the intended message; well I haven't really, I've just been talking about it in another form. Big Grin )

Blessings

More on the Hydrogen fueled cars.

Hydrogen Fueled Cars

I wonder if this technology can extend to heating and cooling homes and buildings? If so, there goes our dependency on oil.

Rebecca's video had said that the car could generate enough electricy to power his home; or half of his street! Of course that car currently is worth five million quid (I don't know how many dollars).

Your article had indicated that Arnold Swartzenager (spelling) had wanted to have hydrogen stations throughout California by 2010; which didn't happen because of the current economy. He does drive a hydrogen powered Hummer! Also trash trucks in Palm Springs are powered by hydrogen.

Part of what I visualize in the future is a combination of wind, solar, wave stations off the coast of California that would generate electric power, when it has over capacity the stations would generate hydrogen which can be used to generate electric power in peak use periods. With the conversion of Salt water to Hydrogen which would be converted to fresh water when the Hydrogen is consumed!

But then if the systems in Rebecca's video become cost effective enough why not just pump salt water to our homes, the system would generate Hydrogen, which would then generate electric power and fresh water?

Interesting Stuff! Big Grin

A fine example of the law of no resistance! When we start letting go this idea about the dire consequences of the shortage of oil or how its usage causes damage to the environment, that's just the kind of sustainable technology that pops up! Cool! thanks Rebecca Wink

This is the tech of the near future hopefully.
I have been following the debate for years now. At the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver the city used Hydrogen buses then scraped the project there after don't know why. To costly perhaps.
California and British Columbia (Canada) signed an agreement to build the "hydrogen highway, going all the way to Alaska from California, another scrapped project.
Two years ago I was working on a motorcar project with the University of Victoria (Canada), we provided electric motor and drive. So far no vehicle produced yet.
And that's how it works time is not the matter timing is and looking back all new inventions that changed the world went through the same process of rejection to acceptance.
This is going to be no matter what the timing not here yet.
And yes you can power a city block with electricity out of one of those fuel cell. And that's only the beginning.

Well, well. This car is very interesting. While it is right in the range of where I'm heading--"Going Green" and being efficient, I should say, the car doesn't look that bad...it looks better than the little wind up toy looking SmartCar--however, my favorite looking car is still the BMW 745 LI~ try that on for size ;-)

I'm looking forward to seeing this car around in 10 years or less!

Peace,
femineen
