Secrets of greatness

Hi, I just want to find out your secrets of greatness. There are a lot of complexities and responsibilites to handle and it is a challenge to do it well.

For me;
I get up early by 6am and get to the office by 7pm. It adds many hours to my day. Most important for me.
I work out 4-5 times a week.
I manage my time with ABCDE system. All tasks are ranked A to E. A is most important and don't do others till A is finished.
I delegate home projects: laundry, yard work, house work, etc to hired help.
Communication. Use email. Use technology to communicate but phone is preferred.

What are your secets?

Thanks,

Donald Trump, Jr

Hi Donald,

Have you read the book, the SOGR? Cool

I don't have any secrets to share except to say that I have recently started to follow what is taught in the SOGR. And to learn more about the principles of what Mr. Wattles taught, I am doing the Practical Geniuses course.

My advice is, don't be in such a rush. Slow down. Relax. Enjoy. It takes a lot more that efficiency to get to where we want to go. Wink

I wish you the very best.

Good post avinash. A little bit about me. I am up to speed on the SGR material. Yes, I read the book and attended three SGR seminars, and also helped organize a seminar. I went to SGR seminar with Bob Proctor who has SGR program and seminar. I was mentored by him for three years.

I tend to drive too fast and my resolution for this year is to slow down. I have a fast car and like to put the pettle to the metal. I should take more time off to relax. I have a two week vacation planned but it is not till May.

Thanks, I will have to check out the Practical Geniuses course. You are right about it taking more than efficieny to get what you want. Sounds like a good course.

Well, Donald, I have a different approach to my time. (Not sure what this has to do with greatness, though, since a person with truly ill intentions could be very efficient and a great managre of his/her time.)

I don't get up early unless I feel like it. Today I got up about 10 am. I have an amazing machine called ROM-FAB that gives a full body workout (stretching, everything) in four minutes a day. The only drawback is it weighs about 500 lbs so I couldn't bring it with me on this trip! Wink (I understand, though, that Anthony Robbins has THREE of them: one at his home, one at his resort in Fiji, and one that does travel with him. If I could figure out how to take one on my 35-foot sailboat -- which is my next adventure, beginning shortly -- I'd do it!) Wink

I DO delegate as much as possible -- but only the stuff I don't like to do. It doesn't matter to me if a particular task is one that someone else would call "unproductive." If it's one I like, I do it. If I don't like it, I farm it out. Interestingly, I've found in the last year or so that the LESS I actually DO in my businesses, the more money comes to me. (Gotta love that!)

I'm one of those people who really doesn't enjoy talking on the phone, so I don't do it much. I do have a cell phone but I don't even remember the number! I'd much rather do email, but even then, I have an assistant who handles most of it for me.

Now all of these things are only about ACTION, and I think the secret of greatness (not to mention wealth, success, whatever) is all in our THINKING.

Oh, yes, I do have one real "secret" that I got from one of my teachers. I no longer make a mile-long "to do" list daily. I just write down one or two or many things that I really do intend to take care of myself and then I make a list for the Universe to take care of, too, and forget all about those things.

It's nothing short of amazing how wonderfully well that works. For example, once I knew what kind of sailboat I wanted, I put finding the right one on the Universe's list. In a couple of days I had FOUR of them to go look at -- all in places I want to visit, and one of them right in Seattle.

I should probably also mention that I've done the efficiency training stuff, time management stuff, personal effectiveness coaching for a year and all that kind of thing. It was all useful to me -- then -- but now I don't really use any of it anymore. I'm much more relaxed and much more into just focusing my THOUGHTS on what I want and letting it all come to me through Law of Attraction.

So much easier, so much more FUN!
Cool! Wink

Love & blessings, and, of course--
EXPECT Success!

Donald,
As a recovering type-A personality, I do make lists but more a master list for the week and less of a daily list. If it's not done by the end of the week I re-evaluate it and then either delegate it, delete it or try to approach it in a way that will make it more interesting for me to do.

I wake up naturally by 6am so I try to do what I can before the rest of the family wakes up. I have time to read and contemplate a chapter or two of SOGR. I have time to write down my intentions for the day (different than a to-do list. This is related to intending positive outcomes for events for the day or things that I am intending to create in my life). I have time to go through email and answer questions before the office ever opens so answers are waiting for my clients when they open their email. Stuff like that. Fun stuff that I can take care of easily.

For me success in business requires good communication and getting back to people as quickly as possible. I need the flexibility in communication to be able to use email or phone at my fingertips at all times. I adore the Treo phone because it is a very efficient way to communicate. For those that are not familiar with it the phone combines Palm technology (scheduling, contact management, etc), email, phone, web service, camera, etc. in one unit. I had one with my last position and it was the only thing that kept me there longer than I wanted! I will be getting one shortly. I'm evaluating the differences between the 700 and the 650. If I had a secret, that would be my secret. Communication is vital in business and this gives me the ability to communicate effectively but not be tied to a computer or a laptop. The Treo allows you to open and manipulate Microsoft Office documents and is Bluetooth compatible so you can print to Bluetooth printers as well.

So my secrets are a weekly master list instead of a daily one and a phone that gives me everything that I need to communicate as easily from a ski-lift as from my office (yes, I have done that!). And, of course, keep track of your happiness meter. If you're not happy, you're doing something wrong! Focus, focus, focus and let the Universe help with the work. It was hard for me to set my ego aside and realize that I'm not as good at this creating stuff as God is! Duh! Use your faith and give ego a different task to do. Literally, I have to do that sometimes to get out of my own way. I give ego the task of organizing something and let that formless energy take care of the rest. It's amazing that a book written nearly a century ago can help me today realize that I can either push water uphill with a rake or just focus on it and allow it to come to me with the right action.

Got to love that!

All the best,
Dawn

Great, awesome, insightful post Rebecca! I was thinking along those lines, but you wrote it much more eloquently than i could have Smile
I especially like your suggestion about making a to-do list for yourself and the Universe--and forgetting about the things on the Universe's list. I too have started to focus more on creating/thinking, than just doing...life is soo much sweeter that way.....

Forever grateful...
