Phil:
Thanks for the feedback. What you are essentailly talking about is the Law of Attraction. It is very much the same ideology and SOGR. It teaches that your life attracts what you think about. The only obstacle I face, is going into work each day in a job that I absolutely hate! I am so bored and burned out of engineering, which is my only skill. Going to work is what negates my positive attitude, although I am deeply grateful for having a well paid job in this economy. For this reason, I have been listening to a subliminal CD in the car every day entitled "Attract Wealth", in order to negate the negativity that my job situtaion imposes. As I've stated before, my goal is financial security, so I no longer need a job. I intend to act in my mind as though I've already won the lottery, and show gratitude for my presnt life and future earnings through SOGR teachings. |

First time reading this post and I won't comment on it because you already had such good insight which in itself is a blessing. About the above quote: I am starting a catering business; I found a commercial kitchen to use right across from a restaurant which it has been in business for a long time; when they have more business than their building can hold they use the banquet facilities of the place where the kitchen I am using is located. The owners of this restaurant had offer me all kind of help; they gave their contact for the building permit; the health inspectors; the town people; they told me: don't hesitate to use our names, (which I did btw). A big part of their business is catering; but as everybody here had said they know that is enough for everybody and more than likely I will get referals from them when they are booked or something like that. If they ever need help because a cook called out or something; I guarantee you I'll be there to help them. If you are unhappy with your job quit or take a vacation or leave of absence and go to a quiet place just with yourself and find what you are looking for. I feel your pain and sadness, but all I can tell is that if you keep doing what you've been doing until now; you'll get the same results; you are an engineer you know this. It's science. Lots of love Luz Maria |

That way of putting it bothers me, because I know many people who think this is about having a clear vision, and they get that, and then fail to get what they want, and then say this metaphysical stuff doesn’t work. But, from everything I understand, it’s not visual or mental. Those are just starting points. It’s emotional. You need to FEEL what it’s like to have a whole lot of money. You need to FEEL the freedom of it, the relief of it, the joy of it, the elation of it, the power of it, delight of it, the appreciation of it, the blessing that it is, the fun of it, the “Wow, OMG!! I wonder what I’ll do now?” of it. Phil "The Universe is responding to how we feel." Esther Hicks |

well, imagining winning the lottery is fine, except that the logic of it is quite the opposite of what most of us are saying here. You don't get rich(and by that I mean a life rich with meaning and opportunities, or whatever you genuinely desire) by winning the lottery. You just get lots of money. I believe that attracting the thing you want and being specific with it(as in clearly having a joyful and enthusiastic idea of it) is a lot of more fun, enjoyable and gets results faster than thinking about winning the lottery. Money itself is just a tool, if you are unhappy, it's all in your thoughts, not how much money is in your bank account.
The essence of it all is that happiness brings money and everything that feels good, not the other way round. So, feeling good is the key, which Phil's many posts will show.... Kevsky: I don't agree. Having the money is not what's necessarily bad. It's how a person uses that money that determines the outcome. Money provides options. Included are many options to do much good and become a better person. |

True. Money gives you certain options in life. But, I've said it before and will again: Who you are with a DOLLAR is who you'll be with a MILLION. Money will not suddenly transform you into a better person. It will simply magnify who you already are. Michael |

Not sure where you got this idea, but it's neither implied nor is it suggested in my post. If you got that, you are way off the meaning of what I said.
Thank you Michael! You said it precisely Blessings Kevin "I think of life itself now as a wonderful play that I've written for myself... and so my purpose is to have the utmost fun playing my part." Shirley MacLaine Actress and Author |

Some interesting comments here!
At one point my focus was on what I wanted to have, then what I wanted to do and finally on who I wanted to be. I have since reversed the order to who I want to be, what I want to do and finally what I want to have! I have found that if I am the person that I want to be the rest all falls into place easily; no work, just play! Some times becoming the person that I want to be seems like work to some people. In my case recently taking classes to recieve some certifications in the Personal Trainer area and spending 1 1/2 hours at the gym six days a week. But that is inspired action; action that I was inspired to do in order to become a Personal Trainer! Be good to yourself, live life passionately and always, always expect success!! I don't know how long I will live, but I'll live until I die!! Tom Strong |

Congratulations! If that's your only obstacle, this will be easy. And I've seen you now say engineering is your only skill, not once but twice. Is that really true? You don't have a single, solitary skill of any other kind? You can't live and breathe and be an engineer every day with NO other skills. Think about it. Therein lies your answer. |

Hello all,
everything I have learned so far, and it's not much, tells me that setting the "HOW" limits our possibilities. If you decide you will achieve a goal in a certain way, then all the other options are closed to you. Instead of doing that, we need to ponder on our goals and desires and do "the next logical step", whatever that may be and let that which we want to create begin its journey to us. |

sjsearcher,
What do you do for fun? I suspect that that is something many people fail to look at closely. I would be surprised if your idea of fun and mine were the same. But I realize more every day how important it is to take time for fun. And fun doesn't need to take a lot of money. Hmm.Can I ask, have you actually read the book morethan once? It suggests you read from it every day until your become familiar with its teachings. Have you done the PG course. I would strongly advise it. Nothing will change unless or until you change, and your attitude, epitomised by your statment above - is simply perpetuating your situation. How true, Johneye. It is the other certain way that brings success - and I have found that the universe thinks in a broader range of possibilities that I do generally. Pauline |

One does need to educate themselves on some of the options that are available in accordance with their CMI. For example, you want to start a restaurant. You do need to learn everything that is involved with making that happen besides having the money to do it. Let's say you don't have the money to do it, well you still do all the work in planning, sharing your ideas with others and remain open to the idea the money will shown show up when you least expect in an unexpected way. It could be as simple as a stranger you meet at a coffee house who is looking for something to invest in. Even a bag could fall out of the sky with all the money you need. When we prepare ourselves and take inspired action I believe invisible substance does deliver. There is nothing wrong with planning on how to make something happen. Where we become stuck is when we believe that this is the only way. When planning we must remain free to see it another way. We should remain open to the infinite possibilities that exist. Dream, make plans and let inspiration dictate your actions. In the case of Bill Gates, I saw him speak once. He said he never started his company to make a billion dollars. He did it to provide software for the world. That was his passion and inspiration. He did the research took action by speaking to hundreds of investors, etc. and the rest is history. Could this be where your true calling is? Something maybe in a health related field or something to do with traveling or charitable work? This is what everyone is trying to get at. What would you do if you had all the money in the world. The answer to that question could lead you to your true calling. |

I think the problem lies in that we forget what it's like to dream when we become adults. We get so caught up in the stresses of everyday life and the expectations we put on ourselves and others that we forget to follow our passions. To really find your passion in life you have to remember what it was like when you were a child. Remember when you let your imagination go wild as a child. You could create whole fantasies and characters just from your minds creativity. Find what makes you feel young, happy, and full of life again. Whatever makes you feel like that most likely will lead you to what your true passion and calling is in life. Then you can create a way of making money doing that which you love by following the SOGR principles.
