It seems to me that simply desiring wealth is not enough. A person needs a specific game plan on how to achieve it. In other words, desire without specific direction is not enough, and will lead to confusion and frustration.
Bill Gates just didn't say I want to become wealthy, and then just sit back. He specifically wanted to start and run a successful software company, which was the conduit to his wealth. Doesn't everyone need a specific "how" in addition to a CMI? I don't think the book discussed this. I wish to become wealthy by winning the lottery. As much as the odds are against me, at least I know that the lottery has the ability to make me wealthy (if I buy tickets) and is my "how" conduit for achieving the wealth. Any input would be most welcome. Thanks! |

In the SOGR, Wattles advises against playing the lottery.
Our goal is to free ourselves from the "competition mindset". When you play the lottery you go into it with the mindset of, "I must win and everyone else will lose". Rather, you should seek to understand that the universe will provide more than enough for everyone. This understanding frees us from the "competitive mindset" and allows us to realize and apply the "creative mindset". The Creative Mindset is what allows to draw true abundance into our lives. Also you shouldn't be focusing on winning the lottery. Ask yourself what would happen if you whould actually win all that money. What would you do with it? What is your plan? Remember a fool and his money are soon parted. Without a strong understanding of how to budget, maintain, and grow wealth you will soon find all of your winnings have vanished. LVX. Veritas. I'm not sure that I agree that the lottery is purely a competitive mindset.
On any given lottery drawing, there can be multiple winners. However, it is true that the losers contribute to the winners jackpot. I picked the lottery because I know of NO other way to become rich. At my age, all that I want to do is retire wealthy as soon as possible. I don't want to become wealthy either from another job or business venture. I just don't have that kind of energy, interest or drive anymore. |

JJ Skinner:
You raise an interesting comment concerning competetive vs creative mindset. And, I know that Wattles advocates the creative mindset only. However, upon investigation what is a creative mindset endeavor, anyway? No matter what endeavor you chosse to make money in, you are going to have competition. Whether it be a job or a business, always competition. Even Rebecca Fine of SOGR is competing against competitors with a similar message. So what CMI can be purely creative without being competitive? |

It is all in how you approach your business.
If you engage in business with the idea of resources and opportunities being scarce, then you will automatically be caught up in the competitive mindset. However, if you approach your business activities with an outlook of abundance then you will automatically ease into the creative mindset. We all KNOW that the supply of energy (the building blocks of our universe) is unlimited when you take into account the whole of existence. So, the idea of scarcity is a false notion. Thus, there is no need to approach business with anything other than the creative/abundance mindset. For example: When my primary job was selling insurance, I always exceeded my goals. Of course, there were other insurance agencies out there - some with lower prices and some with higher prices. But I never thought of them (I still don't) as competition. I always knew there would be more than enough business for me. And I was always right. My martial arts instructor reminds us (on a frequent basis) never to get too cocky about your fighting prowess, "because there is always going to be someone out there who can beat you". So, basically, if you fight there is always a chance you will lose. However, if you choose not to fight and to create instead you have taken the chance of loss out of the equation. (note: I don't want anyone to misconstrue this last statement as an endorsement for pacifism) LVX. Veritas. Prosperitas. J. James Skinner http://successmastersecrets.blogspot.com |

If you won the lottery and had all that money, what would you do? Hw would you spend your time? You would have the ability to do anything you want, so what would you be doing everyday?
Maybe in that question you can find the answers to ways to make money that you would love to do and have more than enough energy for. _______ Follow your bliss! |

I would suggest the best thing to do would be to re-read the book a few times, then do the cousre for practical Geniuses, and to do so with an open mind that you are willing to learn from other people who have applied these teachings successfully. sjsearcher, You said: “It seems to me that simply desiring wealth is not enough.” I agree. MANY people desire wealth, and/or they desire a wonderful relationship, wonderful career, to be fit and healthy. But many don’t get what they desire. So, obviously, desire is not enough. “A person needs a specific game plan on how to achieve it.” That, to me, is not exactly true. I know of at least a few people who got a lot of money but did not have a “specific game play” to achieve it. Examples: Eckhart Tolle, Oprah Winfrey, Tom Hanks, Byron Katie, Denzel Washington. But, from what I understand, they did fall in line with spiritual or metaphysical principles of prosperity, and their wealth came from that. (Bob Proctor, considered to be a ‘master prosperity teacher’ has said, from what he’s experienced, MOST people who get wealthy, rich or famous, don’t really know how they did it.) I doubt you will understand what I’m about to say (or you’d already be doing it) but I’ll mention it, just so to maybe ‘plant the seed’ of the idea. Who knows? Maybe it’ll take root, or stir your curiosity in a good way. The secret to having whatever you want is to come to feel what it’s like to have what you want. It doesn’t require any kind of struggle. It doesn’t require any kind of ‘nose to the grindstone’ kind of efforting. There will be effort, but it is of the kind that you do happily and wholeheartedly. It’s the kind of effort a teacher puts in, that loves teaching what he or she teaches. Or the kind of effort loving effort a loving parent extends. Or the kind of loving effort someone who loves to garden, puts into gardening. It’s the kind of effort that people do so willingly, that even if they never made a dime from it, they would still want to do it. (It’s the effort I’m exerting as I write this.) Do you know of J.K. Rowling, the lady who became the billionaire from her ‘Harry Potter’ books, and their licensing and being made into movies? Her effort was of this kind. Now, I can imagine you saying, “Well, there’s nothing I love to do like this. And if there is, I have no idea how to make a lot of money from it.” Let me share a true story, that might help open your mind to this idea. A man went to a career counselor and said he was looking for this kind of career, one he’d love to do. But he said he couldn’t think of anything. She asked him what he loved to do. He said he loved to fish, but laughed and said he couldn’t make any money with that. Long story short,… she helped him design a business out of his love of fishing. He went on to get financing for a leisure fishing boat and went on to have a few boats. And now, he makes quite a lot of money with his little fishing boat company, taking people out to deep sea fish, catching marlins and such. Oprah has said herself that what she loves to do is talk to people. She has said that she loves it so much she would have PAID for the privilege. But, as we know, she created the conditions where she gets PAID to do what she wants, to talk to the people she wants to talk to, about the subjects that mean so much to her. It seems to me, what you need to do is, imagine what you would do with your time if you ALREADY had millions, and absolutely didn’t have to do anything. What would you do? Everyone wants to contribute in some way. If you had millions YOU would still want to be productive in some way. What would you do if you had millions? If you can discover this, with some degree of certainty, you will have some basis for creating the actual money and life you really want. It needn’t even be related directly to helping others. For example, there are scientists who love to study obscure science, do research on obscure facets of reality, like the study of subatomic particles. Some have been able to secure very good livelihoods, from government and private grants and whatnot, lecturing, teaching, etc., all in line with doing exactly what they love to do. What do you love to do? What makes you feel the best? What interests you so much that, even if you already had millions you’d still pursue it? If you can imagine doing things you absolutely LOVE to do, and get into how wonderful it would FEEL to be doing those things, and if you could imagine and feel like this fairly consistently, you may find you ‘just happen to fall into’ a situation where you start making money, and then other things occurring and you start making more money, and then, finally, come into a full blown lifestyle where, you’re doing exactly what you love to do, loving every bit of ‘effort’ you put into it, and making plenty of money, living a ‘dream come true’ life and lifestyle. That, to me, is what is the basic idea of SOGR, and other metaphysical and spiritual teachings. It seems to me, focusing on only having money by winning the lottery will narrow your chances of having the life experience you really want, because you could easily miss any opportunity that might come your way, or come to you in an idea as an inspiration. You can focus on winning the lottery, but I suggest you also add to your consciousness the idea, “This, or something even better.” Your age is absolutely NO barrier from creating a life and lifestyle that would ‘blow your socks off.’ But, as I’m suggesting, you must first open your consciousness up to the possibility of it. It’s been my experience that people miss tons of opportunities because the way they perceive reality blinds them to it. I hope this little piece helps open you up to a greater possibility. In a nutshell, good or bad, or in between: “The Universe responds to how you feel.” Esther Hicks And you, by how you PERCEIVE things – conditions, experiences, yourself, others, circumstances – DETERMINE how you feel. Isn't this so? So, to answer your question of ‘how’ anyone achieves what they want, the ‘how’ is at first unknown. The ‘how’ BECOMES known, as a person embodies the feeling of what it would be like to already have what they want. In other words, the ‘how’ becomes apparent or known, AFTER one has the experience of having what they want. The ‘how’ is an after effect. So, attempting to know ‘how’ first is putting the cart before the horse. For example, would you like to date a lovely lady, but don’t know ‘how’ to make it happen? Then, first, imagine, totally and with feeling, what it would be like to date a lovely lady. When you can fully experience what it would be like to happily and pleasantly date a lovely lady, then, when the opportunity arises, the ‘how’ to make it happen will occur to you, easily, effortlessly, pleasantly. If I won millions of dollars, what I would specifically do is NEVER work again. This is why I primarily desire millions of dollars! At 57 years old, I am tired of working.
Secondarily, I would occassionally travel, take occassional classes, stay healthy, and minimize all stress and worry in my life. I would also be able to contribute more to charities. I really have no hobbies or outside interests. Money to me symbolizes freedom and options. And that includes freedom to do little or nothing if that is what I desire. For this reason, the lottery is the only way that I can think of to accomplish this goal, without the effort, stress, and problems of a business or job. So what I'm saying is, I wish to become rich so that I can retire. People desire retirement because they want an easier life. They are simply tired of working. Is there anything wrong with this attitude? Is it contrary to SOGR? |

In my opinion, yes, there is something VERY wrong with it. I will be 60 this year, but I am definitely NOT planning on retirement. What I AM planning on is, creating the ultimate, ideal lifestyle and life experience I want. That includes plenty of money, and plenty of freedom to do whatever I want with my time,… including lying around for days or weeks at a time, if that’s what I want. But I know I definitely get a good feeling when I find I can help someone in some significant way. So, this is something I plan on getting better at, and continuing and expanding on. AND, if I can also figure out how to make oodles of money with it, and have more fun with it, I probably will. And, I know there are people and places I want to see and experience. (And I also know these could be other income possibilities.) But, my plan is to have and do it all, in pleasant, happy, peaceful fulfilling ways. It seems to me, you’ve been going at life the wrong way for so long, you just need to get a lot of rest. But getting a lot of rest, and retiring from life are, to me, two completely different things. What I suggest you do is, right now, in your current situation, find as many ways as you can to get as much rest and relaxation as you can. This means, turn off the frickin’ TV and radio too. Those things are stimulants. They don’t really relax. They hypnotize and stimulate. In my opinion, you need to get a LOT of rest. You need to get so rested that you start to get antsy for something creative and productive to do. And since you’re so far from that now, you can’t even imagine what that would really really be like. But if you get enough rest, I believe you will come to the point to realize there are still many meaningful things you want to know, experience or pursue, even if it’s ‘just’ travel, or 'just' a hobby. (You do know that there are people who MAKE money traveling, as opposed to just spend money to travel? And people who've joyfully made tons of money with some 'hobby'?) What I’m trying to suggest to you is, there are ways for you to make all the money you want or need, doing things you absolutely would love to do, even PAY to do, but instead GET paid to do. And there are ways to make all this happen, that are effortless, struggle-less, painless, AND also happy, peaceful, wonderful, delightful, joyful. From what I can tell, there is a way to make a life experience one that is like 'heaven on earth' fantastic and fulfilling. But I think you may actually LESSEN your chances of finding it if your focus is ONLY on winning the lotto. Phil "The Universe is responding to how we feel." Esther Hicks |

Phil:
Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately, I don't have the option of lots of rest. I'm tied to a stressful insecure full-time job in high tech that does not permit me lots of rest. Also, it is my opinion that one person's dream could be another person's nightmare. It is important to realize that your vision of the perfect life could be quite different from mine. One size does NOT fit all! I am fully convinced that with enough money, I would never get bored or lose purpose in life. I could be involved in investing my money as a hobby, going to the gym every day, taking part-time self enrichment classes, donating myself part-time to helping charities, travel, dining out, etc. As I said before, I want money so I can primarily recreate, not work. That to me is the purpose of having the money. No one on their death bed ever wishes they had spent more time in life working. I know I won't. Think about it. What is wrong with an abundant life of leisure, to do whatever I want, when I want, and to also include charitable contributions to help the needy? This is my goal and vision of an abundant life. So why does compliance to the SOGR CMI always have to involve work? Or does it? Why do you make it seem that a retirement goal is some sort of sin? Someday, if you grow old enough, a retirement vision will be a necessity and no longer an option, especially if your health begins to fail. I see no guilt in a retirement mentality, especially if I use part of my wealth to help the needy. |

You asked:
What is wrong with an abundant life of leisure, to do whatever I want, when I want,…? In my opinion, absolutely NOTHING. In fact, I thought that’s exactly what I said you COULD have. “So why does compliance to the SOGR CMI always have to involve work? Or does it?” In my opinion, it depends on how you define ‘work.’ If you define ‘work’ as some activity you’d rather not do, but you only do it because when you do it you get money, then, SOGR does not involve ‘work.’ But if you define ‘work’ as ANY enjoyable activity (and YOU determine what is enjoyable) then, SOGR does seem to include that. You wrote: “Unfortunately, I don't have the option of lots of rest. I'm tied to a stressful insecure full-time job in high tech that does not permit me lots of rest.” I’m willing to bet that if I followed you around for a day, I could point out to you moments when YOU – not your job or circumstances – are causing yourself undue stress. And also, I bet I could point out to you moments when you could relax and rest a bit, that you are not taking advantage of. And, I’m willing to bet that there is at least one professional career counselor, prosperity teacher or life coach in the world who could show you you are NOT tied to your present insecure job. Limitations are mindsets. You can be totally convinced you are right about them, and be wrong about them. You wrote: “I want money so I can primarily recreate,…” I’ll say it again. This could be a ‘key’ to you creating the life you really want, with all the freedom, money and whatever else, to do whatever you want to do, when you want to do it. If you already had millions, how would you ‘recreate’? What would you do with your time? If you already had millions, what would you want to experience, that you could now experience? Answering these kind of questions will help you actually have the money and situation you want. I’m also willing to bet that there are paths to the life and abundance you want that you have not yet found. In other words, just because YOU can’t see any other way for you to have what you want besides winning the lotto, doesn’t mean other ways don’t exist. And that is my, and at least one other’s point. I believe you’d benefit by opening up your mind (your mindset, your beliefs) to the possibility of other ways for you to have what you want. And, you don’t have to figure them out. If you are really open to them, they will come to you. Do you think your current circumstances make it impossible for you to experience peace, calm and happiness? If so, consider the following: “We create our own heaven or hell. Your thoughts can imprison you or set you free. Complications, conditions or people do not upset you, but the way you think about them causes your upset. Freedom is not possible until we discipline and retrain our minds.” - p. 124 of Choose To Live Peacefully by Susan Smith Jones, Ph.D. “If you say, “I just can’t help the way I feel,” you will only make yourself a victim of your misery ~ and you’ll be fooling yourself, because you can change the way you feel. If you want to feel better, you must realize that your thoughts and attitudes--not external events--create your feelings. You can learn to change the way your think, feel, and behave in the here-and-now.” - from The Feeling Good Handbook by Dr. David Burns “If you let the world affect how you feel, what you are saying is, "I do not make my own decisions, I just have a Pavlovian response to anything that may twang my emotions."” Stuart Wilde in ‘Life Was Never Meant To Be A Struggle’ “When you feel frustrated or upset by a person or a situation, remember that you are not reacting to the person or the situation, but to your feelings [beliefs] about the person or the situation.” - from The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra “I can't emphasize this strongly enough... If you haven't been able to feel how you want to feel and haven't been able to get yourself to do something you want to do... then you are being victimized by your own disempowering thoughts, beliefs and attitudes.” - Mike Brescia, President, Think Right Now International “Suffering is always optional.” From ‘Restore Your Magnificence’ by Dr. Joe Rubino “If things go wrong in my world, something is wrong in me. Therefore, if I am sensible, I shall put myself right first.” Carl Jung “It's a familiar story for many of us. Notice how suffering is always caused when we are believing our own stressful thoughts. And if you are feeling any stress, even the most minute amount of stress, I invite you to identify what you are believing and then to question those thoughts that are always the cause of that stress.” Byron Katie “Other people can neither make us miserable nor make us happy.” - p.3 of Choice Theory by William Glasser, M.D. “When anything external distresses us, it is not the event which causes us pain; rather, it is our response to it, and this we have the power to revoke at every given moment." - Epictetus “The primary cause of unhappiness is never the situation but your thoughts about it. Be aware of the thought you are thinking. Separate them from the situation, which is always neutral, which always is at it is.” Eckhart Tolle in ‘The New Earth’ p. 90 "If for a moment, you think your destiny is being determined by external circumstances, you're sleepwalking." Dr. Michael Beckwith And here’s, to me, a key to grasp: How you feel is determining what comes into, or stays in your life. “The Universe responds to how you feel.” Esther Hicks “Feeling is the secret.” Neville Goddard Phil "The Universe is responding to how we feel." I just finished reading an interesting book, "Outliers" by Malcolm Gladwell which goes into some detail on how Bill Gates made his money. He and his friend started out by being very interested in computers and were fortunate enough to have access to one of the best large main frames when they were kids. They had no idea that they would make a lot of money; they started their software company later because nobody else was doing what they were doing. They each put in over 10,000 hours of work/play to developing the skills to begin their business, but had a lot of fun doing it. BTW, I am now 69 and am developing a new business; not because I need to but because I want to. I also will have plenty of time to continue improving my home and traveling to great places with my family and friends. Be good to yourself, live life passionately and always, always expect success!! I don't know how long I will live, but I'll live until I die!! Tom Strong |

sjsearcher,
One thing seems sure to me,… there is no security in jobs or anything else in the world. The only real security a person can have is the one they deliberately cultivate within. But, if you develop an inner sense of security, my experience is, it positively influences your outer conditions. I don’t know how much you’ve studied paths to wealth, prosperity and an overall rich life. I’ve been studying it for many years. What I am going to say next may seem unbelievable and even trite, but after reading countless books and taking a few courses and attending seminars, I believe the ONLY thing having a very good life requires is,… One just needs to get good at feeling good. By feeling good, I mean feeling peace, calm, well being, secure, safe, loved, loving, happy, grateful, feeling good and even wonderful about yourself, appreciative, optimistic, resourceful, creative, blessed, looking forward to what’s to come,… to be able to experience ease and relief, and to be able to laugh and smile, tell a joke every now and then, and to be able to relax almost if not entirely at will. My study, practice and experience tell me that feeling good is largely a skill. In other words, it requires some knowledge of why we actually feel however we do (it’s not anything outside of us), and learning one of more methods in order to have the experience. And also, like most skills, the more you practice and learn, the better you can get at it. (There are exceptions to this, e.g., Eckart Tolle and Byron Katie did not practice any method, but theirs is somewhat a unique story. Also, some people just learned on their own, and developed their own methods to feel good, and because they felt good, they experience the good lives those feelings mirror.) But the important thing that seems to be understated in even some of the most prevalent success, prosperity or even spiritual teachings is, the better you feel, the more your life will ‘just seem’ to work out better,… without undue effort, struggle or pain. I want to try to impress this point: How you feel is NOT something superficial. The way a couple prominent prosperity teachers put it is, our feelings are the ONLY ‘language’ the Universe (God, Source, Higher Self) undertands and responds to. Thus, it doesn’t matter WHY you feel good, the Universe will respond by ‘delivering’ you conditions, experiences, relationships, opportunities, etc., that ‘mirror’ and support your good feelings. But conversely, it also doesn’t matter WHY you feel bad, or why you think you MUST feel bad when you feel bad; the Universe will only respond to how you feel, and give you more to feel bad about. If you’ve never heard this idea I’m sure I sound nuts or naïve, or worse, to you. But I’m telling you, it works. Get yourself to feeling sincerely better more of the time, and just give it a few days (it may not even take a few days). You will likely notice some odd but pleasant, or unexplainable but fortuitous things happening. When they do, take note of them. Don’t dismiss them as ‘coincidental.’ As is also taught, there are no coincidences, accidents or random happenings. The Universe is more precise than an atomic clock. If you’re still not willing to seriously consider working to feel better, consider the following: “Your feelings create the pattern from which your world is fashioned, and a change of feeling is a change of pattern. The subconscious never fails to express that which has been impressed upon it. The moment it receives an impression it begins to work out the ways of its expression. It accepts the feeling impressed upon it, your feeling, as a fact existing within itself and immediately sets about to produce in the outer or objective world the exact likeness of that feeling. The subconscious never alters the accepted beliefs of man – it out-pictures them to the last detail whether or not they are beneficial. To impress the subconscious with the desirable state you must assume the feeling that would be yours had you already realized your wish. In defining your objective you must be concerned only with the objective itself. The manner of expression or the difficulties involved are not to be considered by you. To think feelingly on any state impresses it on the subconscious.” Neville Goddard in ‘Feeling is the Secret’ “Our emotions are powerful guidance systems, always telling us if the vibration of our thought is helping or hindering. Talk about an elaborate navigational system. We’ve been taught to believe we are at the mercy of our feelings and we should fear them, or even worse, ignore them. Not only is it safe to listen to our emotions, it’s absolutely necessary if we intend to attract our desires. … Until we learn to listen to our emotions and train ourselves to feel better by focusing our thoughts differently, our lives will be haphazard sets of circumstances.” From ‘Feel It Real’ by Denise Coates - actress, life coach, author "It is never too late to find a good feeling place about anything. Things will constantly change to match the feeling you have inside." Abraham-Hicks “Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal.” – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “The feeling of health produces health. The feeling of wealth produces wealth.” Joseph Murphy in ‘The Power Of The Subconscious Mind’ “Just as every computer has a ‘language’ it uses to get things done,.. it appears the Universe has a ‘language’ as well, and it’s a language we call human emotions, and the power of feeling, and what we believe to be true in our lives. (00:20-00:41) If we can learn to feel as if the things we want to experience have already happened, that is the ‘language’ that this field (of Unlimited Potential, aka God) understands and acts in accordance with.” Gregg Braden – author of ‘The Divine Matrix’ “Tending to your own thoughts and feelings and letting yourself become the perfect match to your desires brings you joy and peace. And I promise you that your own joy and peace are the keys to everything -- EVERYTHING -- you want, for yourself and others.” Rebecca Fine “The Universe is not responding to our words. The Universe is responding to how we feel.” Esther Hicks “The important thing is that you actively put yourself in the vibration [feeling] you must for your desired outcome to be created.” - Multimillionaire John Assaraf, from p. 168 of his book ‘The Street Kid’s Guide To Having It All’ "Enter into the joy of the answered prayer and your wish, idea or desire will become God's will, which is the consciousness of having or being what you long to be or possess. This is the consciousness of conviction, which manifests itself in your world as a condition, experience or event." - Joseph Murphy in ‘Traveling With God’1956 "What I am most happy about is that I can zero in on a vision of where I want to be in the future. I can see it so clearly in front of me when I daydream that it's almost a reality. Then I get this easy feeling, and I don't have to be uptight to get there because I already feel like I'm there, that it's just a matter of time." Arnold Schwarzenegger “We could hardly wait to get up in the morning.” -- Wilbur Wright “Just imagine something for a moment: Imagine you have an extra hundred thousand dollars and you can do anything you want with it. What are you doing? Let yourself soar. Explore that image of yourself doing whatever you want. How do you FEEL? Pay attention to the vibration of your body, of how you physically feel, of the mental uplift you are experiencing, of the emotions you are feeling. You are vibrating on a positive frequency, aren't you? Imagining all that goodness creates a positive vibration that is sent out into the universe. When you regularly use your imagination to recreate that positive vibration, repeating the same thought and the same feeling over and over, you create a conditioned program that will keep you in that frequency at a subconscious level. When you are regularly sending out good vibrations, the universe responds by sending an abundance of whatever it is you want back to you. Your positive vibrations attract your goals and dreams into your life, so start vibrating!” - John Assaraf, multimillionaire businessman, teacher, N.Y. Times bestselling author "Most people believe that if they "have" a thing (more time, money, love - whatever) then they can finally "do" a thing (write a book, take up a hobby, go on vacation, buy a home, undertake a relationship), which will enable them to "be" a thing (happy, peaceful, content, or in love). In actuality, they are reversing the Be-Do-Have paradigm. In the Universe as it really is (as opposed to how you think it is), "havingness" does not produce "beingness", but the other way around. First you "be" the thing called "happy" (or "knowing", or "wise", or "compassionate", or whatever) then you start "doing" things from this place of beingness - and soon you discover that what you are doing winds up bringing you the things you've always wanted to "have." The way to set this creative process (and that's what this is ... the process of creation) into motion [in a direction that would be fulfilling for you] is to look at what it is you want to "have," ask yourself what you think you would be "being" if you "had" that, then go right straight to being. In this way you reverse the way you've been using the Be-Do-Have paradigm-in actuality, set it right - and work with, rather than against, the creative power of the universe. Here is a short way of stating this principle: In life, you do not have to do anything. It is all a question of what you are BE-ing." Conversations With God (book 3) by Neale Donald Walsch “There is a current to everybody’s life and there is a flow in your own life and if you’re struggling it means you’re moving upstream. Turn around. Find the flow.” Oprah Winfrey “Attend to your inner health and happiness. Happiness radiates like the fragrance from a flower and draws all good things toward you.” ~ Maharishi Mahesh Yogi ~ “When the solution is simple, God is answering.” - Albert Einstein Phil "The Universe is responding to how we feel." "Money is not required to buy one necessity of the soul." - HENRY DAVID THOREAU
In reading your postings, I sense there is something at work inside you that is seeking a sense of well being and peace within. As I see it, you seem to be looking outside of yourself thinking that money, material possessions, etc will somehow fill the void. Take a look deep within. Is it money that you want or is it the feeling of peace and security you really want? If it's the latter, you can have that for free, right now. That is the kingdom within which, if you seek it, all the other things (money, etc) will be added to you. "He who seeks silver, will never be satisfied with silver" - Ecclesiastes Michael |
