I've been trying to think of a subject heading for this post, and in the end decided on 'Generosity of Spirit'.

But even that isn't right...

I've been noticing something about myself that I find quite delightful!

I've become more generous and kinder, more loving, more sympathetic, more compassionate.

These are qualities I've always attributed to myself, but in the last little while I've experienced it coming from a place of inner peace.

I find myself thinking more about how I can help people, rather than thinking about the help I need.

I think this is fundamental in practising "more for all and less for none." By concerning myself with what I can do for someone, my needs seem to be automatically looked after, or at least the problems seem smaller.

This is something I was told in another program I've followed, but for some reason, I never got it quite like I'm getting it now. It's like the deeper understanding of gratitude, which was the first thing I got from SOGR.

Now this deeper understanding of how focussing on other people's needs makes my problems less daunting.

Thank you.

Amazing how it works, isn't it?

We get what we give.

Just a simple example, something I noticed at my niece's birthday party on the weekend.

I love hugs. Every time I meet someone I know, or say goodbye, I give them a hug. Everyone says I give the best hugs, and I always tell them my secret ingredient - love. At this party on the weekend, I received SO MANY hugs, it was just wonderful. I don't have to be the instigator anymore, people come looking for me for a hug, and of course, the best part is all the great hugs that I am getting. The people I know have become much better at hugging too, with all the practice.

It works for everything. We get what we give, and so much more than we have given.
