Happy Memorial Day everyone!

OK, as you know I'm still struggling with SOGR personally and working on how to incorporate it into my life. My wife, Michele, has NEVER read anything like SOGR or any of the other dozens of similar books I've read. Of course, we've talked many times and she knows my beliefs/interests. Usually, when I mention anything about the power of the mind, or that something happened because I/she willed it to happen, the usual answer from her is "Whatever!"

Anyway, this morning I happened to wake up at around 6am. Don't ask my why because I would normally NEVER do this unless I have to work. This being Memorial Day, I obviously don't have to go in. So, I'm up and I figure since it's supposed to be so hot today, I better go out and water our new lawn before the sun gets out all the way.

As I'm walking around the back yard, I happen to look at our two apple trees and I think to myself..."Those dead branches are really bugging me, I think I'm gonna cut them off." Now, mind you, I've had these same thoughts for 2-3 months since we moved in and I just never felt like doing anything about it. This morning was different...

I went down the basement to get my bow saw and ladder, and went out to commence the trimming. Keep in mind, it's now about 6:15am so it's TOTALLY out of character for me to be trimming trees at this hour. The neighbors probably think I'm nuts (if any of them are up to see me), but it just felt right and I really wanted to trim these trees this morning.

About 6:30am, my wife is standing on the side of the house asking me what the heck I'm doing? I, of course, say, "I'm trimming the trees honey." She makes a comment that I'm nuts, and she then decides to go start mulching the trees out front. Yes... we're BOTH nuts! :-)

After I'm done, I go around to sit on the front porch to talk to her, and she says, "You know, that is SO weird that you were cutting those trees this morning", to which I respond, "Why?"

She replies, "Because I was just thinking last night about how bad I wanted those trees trimmed because they look so terrible."

OMG, that is SO weird! I had to know, exactly what she was thinking about the trees, so I asked. She said her basic thought was, "God, I REALLY need those trees trimmed!"

OK, so is that SOGR in action, even though my wife doesn't know what the heck SOGR is?

The fact that we don't know about universal laws, or don't believe in them, does not stop their power. Your story is a great example of that.

I've been thinking how much I want to renovate our bathroom and came home a few Saturdays ago to find my partner had been busy installing a new shower head, new towel rail and wall mounted toilet brush! Than the other day I was looking at our tomato plants and thinking how straggly they looked, well over the weekend he staked them all out and they look great!
Now to concentrate on the getting the living room tiled!

In the light of your other posting about skepticism, etc. it would appear that you now have some scientific evidence (or at least a very good personal anecdote) on which you can base your faith to follow the book. Now all you have to do is test, test, test. Do what your told to do in the book, and course, and be honest about your observations of the results.

That's what I have done and I'm liking the results so far. My situation has improved dramatically over the past 5 months.

BillB, you don't know how right you are!

There's an old friend I used to work with that I haven't talked to in probably more than 12 years. Today, I had this strange urge to contact him, but all I had was an old email address that I wasn't even sure worked any more. I sent a short email to the address to see if he still used it, and within about 30 minutes, I had a response and here is the first line he typed:

"LOL... I was thinking about you and the family the other day and wondered if mauder.com was still around."

I suspect I'll be noticing more and more evidence of SOGR in action now that I'm focusing on it again.
