I guess I am expecting too much out of alignment. I was expecting it to feel really great, like I actually wanted to do the thing and didn't mind the time spent doing it...kinda like swimming all alone in my lake when the weather is perfect for it.
I was also hoping that alignment might bring opportunities for easy effortless wealth....and I haven't found a thing that I like to do enough for that. |

"It was hard and I wasted my time"
Whenever I get involved in something that takes attention and makes time pass quickly, I get angry that I wasted my time. For instance, I worked very hard on my drawing and design classes. I would work on these projects for six hours and never know what time it was. they turned out nicely. I got great grades and reviews from other students and teachers, but when I was done with one, I would look at the clock and feel angry that I wasted so much time. I think some people might think that is alignment....this passage of time with this very strong focus. But I have always hated that feeling and it has always left me exhausted and angry. So I guess that's not true alignment either. I really do not think I know alignment. I know how to make the best of many experiences. I know how to give in and laugh and enjoy to a point. I can appreciate many little things during the day. But it doesn't happen naturally. I would imagine alignment happens naturally. |

I can't say that I feel exactly the same way, but I also have struggled with this. When I am that focused, it's almost like I'm not there. I can't explain it well, but I am SO present to what I am focusing on that I "disappear". And so does the time. I've wondered why people think that's so great... Is there a way to be more aware and enjoy it more? There are SOME things that I CAN do and stay present and aware of what's going on around me and enjoy it as I'm doing it - like windsurfing or skiing. Or like you said, "I can appreciate many little things during the day". This must be the alignment? It also seems to happen naturally when I'm doing things that I enjoy. Maybe not so naturally in other situations. Most social situations, for instance, are "work" for me. But with help from SOGR and other things, I can now go into those situations with the intention to be happy and I AM! First time it happened it shocked the heck out of me. Anyway, alignment doesn't happen "naturally" in these situations - but I think it's getting easier... Leslie Happy at Heart |

Anne, It sounds to me that before you look at clock, you were not angry. So it was the thought that you "wasted so much time" that made you angry, not the working on the projects itself. Maybe you can question that thought. Where does it come from? Time always passes -- Where would be a better place to spend that much time rather than working on the projects? And you said you enjoyed working on those projects (not knowing time passing), and they turned out nicely... that process does sound that you were in alignment while you were doing it. The feeling that you hated was, again, caused by that thought. Our thoughts are not always true, you know. But they generate feelings inside us and the feelings carry us with them so we believe our thoughts. And before we know it, the irrational thoughts take us over and exhaust us. Being in alighment is to enjoy our moments - the time. There is no moment better than any other moments. It's up to us to make every moment extraordinary, either by spending on a project, or by loving and appreciating ourselves. We can't criticize ourselves and feel loved (aligned). Not from what I understand, though it’s our natural state. I’m guessing you’ve viewed some of the Abraham-Hicks videos on youtube. There are now MANY. Do you notice that MOST of them are attempting to teach alignment? If if were easy, why so many videos on how to get to it? Phil "The Universe is responding to how we feel." Esther Hicks |
