Success story!

Ok, so this isn't exactly MY success story, it belongs to my flatmate and long time friend who is a firm believer in these principals.

We know each others goals so to see her manifest EXACTLY what she asked for is very exciting! She's been wanting to move back to QLD where we are both from. She wanted a job back doing visual merchandising, based on the Gold Coast, there was a specified wage she wanted and she also wanted a company car all expenses paid and for the job to require her to travel to Cairns in North QLD once a month, all expenses paid as well, christmas time she would get holidays and not have to work weekends ever.

She leaves tomorrow for the Gold Coast for a visual merchandising job for more money than she asked for, company car and will be travelling to Cairns once a month, all expenses paid as part of the job!

Pretty cool huh?! I've been feeling a little sad that we're parting ways but at the same time very excited as I feel that if she is moving on to what she wants, it means what I want is coming also!

Cheers,

Shannon

Congratulations for both you and your friend! Thanks for sharing!

I think that it is important to remember that she will always be your friend regardless of where she or you are located. The world is such a small place anymore!

I have read that whenever we sincerely appreciate or are glad about another’s success, we exponentially increase the likelihood of our own. The reason being, in order to be glad for another’s success we must believe we live in an abundant Universe so, to be happy for another's success is to believe there is plenty for everyone.

It's a sign we believe in abundance. And as had been said, we tend to experience what we beleive.

I remember when I was a kid, I just loved it when one of my brothers got something they wanted. I felt just as good as they did, maybe even better.

I also feel good when I see some happy new mom with her new baby.

I also love some of the success stories from famous people like Jim Carrey or Oprah. They don’t necessarily ‘wear it on their sleeve’ but, from what I’ve heard or read, they practice spiritual principles, in order to create and live the lives they have.

Good to hear you're enjoying your mate's success.

Blessings to you,

As much as this is my friends success story, it does also tie in with own plans that I had made, so in a big way, its my sucess to. I plan on doing a big road trip to the other side of Australia in about two months time to go live and work in North QLD for awhile. The idea is to get away and see a lot of the country side, have a break, visit some friends and work in North QLD and make and save some money.

When my housemate mentioned she was trying to get a job and move back to QLD I realised this was good for me as her leaving would mean I wouldn't need to be paying rent down here as we would give up our apartment, meaning I will be able to save me around $3000 which is going to go a long way in paying off my bills and saving for a trip away! Her living on the Gold Coast is going to be extremely handy for me as I love going there for visits and now always have a place to stay! In fact, one of the first things she's doing when she moves into her new apartment is get my room ready for when I visit!

I guess my main concern with her leaving was that I would be lonely without my best friend here. Who would I hang out with on weekends when I had no other plans, etc etc? I told myself that I would be fine and I would handle it and new friends would come along. Which has also happened! My very first night here alone, a girlfriend invited me out with some of her friends, met another very nice girl and ended up having a fabulous night out and getting home at 3:30 in the morning!! I love how the universe takes care of you when you let it!

The more I've thought about this being my friends success story, the more I've come to realise my own success I'm getting from this. Quite a few years back, almost ten years now! I decided that without having even visited Melbourne, I wanted to live there in the bayside suburb of St Kilda. I'd heard a lot about it from friends and one of my favourite TV shows was set there. I finally visited here back in 2006 with my than partner and loved it.
The bay, Luna Park, the tree lined strees, botanical gardens,Acland st with its famous bakeries.

So here it is now, 2010 and as of today, my address now reads St Kilda! I live right across from the bay, across the street from Luna Park and a two minute walk from Acland St!

here is a link so you can check out my new neighbourhood!

None of this happened the way I thought it would. I thought many times about moving down over that ten years but never had the courage. It involved getting a job that sent me here with friends, spliting with my partner, my friends that I moved here with all leaving, a difficult period of adjustment involving moving around into different areas of Melbourne where I wasn't sure if I liked it here or not, before I finally found myself here!

Interesting to note also that almost ten years ago when I decided I wanted to live in St Kilda, I also wanted to own my own place here! As I look around the beautiful apartment I'm renting I can't help but feel ownership is fast tracking its way to me!
