Hi, I refer, in part, to the thread from the OP, (and subsequent replies) above.

Under what conditions do YOU practice your viz techniques? I note the content of SOGR with respect to this, but I'm hoping to find out some specific methods forum members use.

At least once a day I set asside 15-30 mins sit in my high-back chair, rest my head, close my eyes and just focus/feel as best I can (practice makes etc...!) on that which I feel to "possess" - or at least a common point to which all I "feel" converges Wink )

In addition, I take snippets thoughout my day, albeit whilst undertaking daily activities. I'm actually practicing now, as I type, although I expect the efforts will be diluted. Being aware to "feel" what I "already in possession of" is mostly in my mind anyway, is what I'm saying.

How do you approach your viz techniques please?

Thanks for your feedback

I set aside time too. I am unable to keep the reality of my visualization going throughout the day. My mind usually wanders to either my usual complaints or to wild fantasies that I probably don't want to happen anyway.

I practice the feelings I want to experience with ‘having’ the things I want, e.g., feelings like peacefulness, feeling free, feeling more grateful, gladder, etc.

Fyi, in my life this has seemed to work specifically to get me into a place that costs me less than the previous one but has more of the amenities I appreciate, and it specifically matched the location requirements I had, and specifically easily allows me to experience a lot of peace.

Generally I try to notice several times throughout my days my mood, so as to stay conscious of how I’m feeling. I also generally usually silently say things to help me feel good feelings, e.g., I am a Child of God; it’s possible to feel good now, in this moment, no matter what is going on around me. I’ll also ask myself questions to help me feel some good feeling, e.g., What’s it like to feel happy? What’s it like to feel really relaxed? What’s it like to feel completely safe? How would I feel if I somehow KNEW everything is working out for me?

Money and workwise, I believe my ‘efforts’ have created for me 2 raises that I didn’t ask for, and maybe even bonuses that I didn’t know I was eligible for. (I didn’t even know they existed for people in my position.) I also believe my good feelings help create work that is close to where I live, a schedule that is slightly different than most, which allows me to commute when there’s little traffic, and other nice ‘perks.’

I’m also looking to significantly bump up my income (only in some good, relaxed, easy way,… or something even BETTER!!) and I practice not worrying ‘how’ this will happen, and I am getting the ‘how’ coming to me in easy, effortless pieces.

I also practice visualizing being physically fit and try to imagine what perfect health feels like. Sometimes I’ll be walking and ask myself, “How would I walk, how would I carry myself, if I were in great shape and feeling great?” I’ll also try to imagine this when I’m sitting around somewhere.

I also take a few moments to notice how I feel about others, and if it’s less than ideal I work to improve how I feel about them. (And I also do this with myself, of course.)

Btw, I want to mention that when I say ‘effort’ it’s not really effort. I find what works best for me is more like the energy associated with ideas like curiosity, wonder or contemplation. I ‘wonder’ what it’s like to feel really good. Or, I wonder what it’s like to feel peaceful, completely safe, etc., and the wondering seems to create the feeling I wonder about. Or, I’ll sometimes just contemplate the words, like peace, freedom, ease, effortlessness, flow.

One more thing. I also try to notice how I’m breathing, as I’ve studied and experienced how my breathing is a very good way of keeping myself aligned with good feelings, or of noticing when I’m not. (It’s hard to stay uptight when you relax and take deeper, conscious breaths.)

One more thing: I also keep reminding myself: It’s only my thoughts that cause me to feel however I do, and NEVER my circumstances or what others say or do, or don’t say or don’t do.

And I also constantly tell or remind myself of the following quote:

“The Universe is responding to how we feel.” Esther Hicks

One more important thing I do: I purposefully take or make the time to have nothing else to do but be by myself and consider or reflect on my ‘base’ mood, the mood I’m in for much of my day. And I’ve noticed it’s not as lofty as I’d like. (I think I’d like to be around 8 or 9 more, as opposed to 6 or 7 most of my time, on a scale of 1 to 10. I don’t need to be 10 all the time. I think that would just be too much.) So, I’m wondering, “What could I think, that might allow or cause me to feel more of a 8 or 9 feeling, a little bit more?”)

One more important thing: I believe PAINFUL FEELINGS are GOOD. I believe they’re good because they ALERT me to the fact that some way I’m thinking or believing is blocking good from coming into my life. I believe that’s what painful feelings are for. I believe that’s why we experience them. They are meant to alert us when we have some limiting belief that needs to be revised, resolved or replaced. If we never felt emotional pains, we’d never know.

Similarly, it’s like physical pain. If we never experienced physical pains we might never do anything to resolve or fix physical issues. For example, we might cut ourselves, and if we didn’t experience any physical pain, we might just watch with curiosity,… as we bled to death.

So, pain – physical or emotional – is good for us, in that they warn us of something in or about us that needs to be resolved.

I also study consistently. I'll read something, almost every day, to improve my understanding. Or I'll watch informative, uplifitng videos on youtube or elsewhere. (Abraham-Hicks has a lot of these on youtube.)

I also like to move around, get some sunshine, take bike rides and exercise, and experiment and play around with different moves or exercises.

Phil

I thought I'd share with you my experience of visualising something into existence today. I'm going to the theatre on Thursday with some friends and there was one person I didn't really want to go with. I find him very argumentative and I don't enjoy his company.

So, I spent the past couple of days paying lots of attention to the emails arranging the dates when everyone could go. I spent a lot of time thinking that I wanted to avoid this person and how terrible it would be if I got stuck with him. I tried to work out many varied and ingenious ways of how to avoid sharing the evening together. I really felt how much it would ruin the evening if I had to spend the whole time in his company.

Guess what happened? I'm going to the theatre with him on Thursday and everyone else is going on a different night. Doh! It's quite funny really because it is so painfully obvious that I have been putting so much effort into creating a clear mental image of what I didn't want to happen and that then created it exactly.

The even better news is that I can see that this happened and maybe I can actually spend my time creating a clear mental image of something I actually want. That would be a nice change.

So what I'm going to do now is to spend the next few days imagining a clear mental image of a wonderful night at the theatre with a friendly and knowledgeable companion and having a lovely time. And I'm grateful for the experience of creating what I didn't want and all that I've learnt from it.

I think the most frequent place for visualization in my experience would be my car. Having personal quiet space is super important.

A thing I've been doing recently, and haven't yet posted about, is this: every time something unwanted occurs - a bill I wasn't expecting, a stubbed toe, a momentary mood slump - I re-frame my feeling as "how would this feel if I was right there in my CMI?" - almost always, the answer is completely better, and if not then I can usually steer it there somehow.

So I'm taking life's little speed-bumps, and using them to reinforce as well...

Thank you for this inspiring topic.

There are three things I do every day.
First, or last..just before I go to sleep, I lie on my back (oddly enough I am unable in another position)and then automatically displays a smile on my face.
I think back on all the beautifull things that happened today to be and FEEL grateful for.

After that I'm going to enjoy my CMI, being grateful in advance and go to sleep.

When I wake up in the morning I start being grateful (but that's not always a succes!!)

During the three walks with my dog I choose a word, that I speak out in the rythm of my steps.
Succes, happy, abundance, blessing....etc.
