Hi everyone
I have a couple of days in a row now that I have been feeling less than my usual positive self. I know these things happen to everyone but it just seems to have come out of the blue this time. I have started a new business in an industry that I have had a lot of success in before. I think the reason for my feelings of lack of confidence are because the last time I had a business like this my Ex-wife was my business partner and although we had great success she sabotaged it all with her money issues. Can anyone think of the best chapter in the SOGR to assist me in dealing with this lack of confidence? Or any other suggestions? Cheers |

May i suggest chapter 2. It takes you back to the basics of SOGR. It's a science and your enviroment or other people cannot stop you if you think in the certain way. Then maybe follow up with chapter 8 about thinking in the certain way. it will refresh you on FAITH and PURPOSE.
Good luck with your bussiness. CARPE DIEM - "Seize The Day" |

Hi Exact 1
I reckon have a look at chapter 9 as well. Key to this for me is 'Doubt or unbelief is certain to start a movement away from you as faith and purpose are to start one toward you.' You may find that useful Tee Enjoy realising ... makes it easier |

Exact1, I hope you are ready for this. The simple answer to your question is Chapter 7, Gratitude. Let me give you a little explanation that will throw some light on the real issue as I see it. You say your lack of confidence is due to your ex-wife's money issues. I don't believe it is a true statement, because if it was true, you should have all the confidence in the world, since she is not there this time. I believe you problem truly lies somewhere within you, and your ex wife was simply the means of manifestation of your own lack issues, and that is why despite her absense you feel the fear, because this time you don't have anyone to blame it on. So be grateful for her sabotaging your business last time and release her from the blame. You will see instant miracles. I highly recommenc chapter 7 on Gratitude.

Thanks for the suggested chapters everyone and I must admit Mr Weirdo there was a "pang" in the pit of my stomach when I read your reply, a pang of guilt.
Again my sincerest thanks to all. Sean |

Well I have to say, the best part of this forum is honestly. There is not point the SOGR people giving you that warm and fuzzy feeling reply. So I have to agree with Mr W.
In addition, the more people reply to your post the more confused you are going to be on what chapters people will suggest for you. Personally by experience perhaps you need to spend some time on your CMI and ask yourself what you need to re-read. You may consider doing the on-line course and re-read the whole book again and again. What do you have to lose? If I get stuck I read Chapters 4 The first principle in the SOGR, 7 Gratitude, 14 The Impression of Interest. Lots of love to all Sonia |

Fear is not your friend. Neither is doubt. Before I started living A CERTAIN WAY (ALL THE TIME), I would get very near success with my writing and then subconsciously sabotage it with my thoughts, MY FEAR and my DOUBTS. This does nothing but cultivate low self-esteem, which in turn, feeds the fear and doubt, which in turn grows, and yada...yada...yada.
I use to say to myself: Who am I to think I can write humor? No way could I win that writing contest! Who would want to read my work, buy my book? I went so far as to think "I'm a fraud." These thoughts usually followed a submission of a story to a new editor, magazine, whatever. Naturally, I received rejections, one after the other. Then I decided I was tired of putting ME down, and blaming outside circumstances, (unheard of author, publisher not big enough, etc.) and decided I WAS a good writer and started focusing on my CMI as a writer. Since that time I've had another book come out, sold out of my first book THREE TIMES, won contest, had two national mags accept my articles, and on and on... The truth was, I was afraid of succeeding. If I succeeded, then I would truly have to BE all I could BE. That scared me. So, my subconscious took over and helped me out by giving me all the reasons it WOULDN'T WORK. Once I realized being all you could be is a joy, not a burden, and that the only thing standing in my way was ME, it was clear sailing. I hope this helps and I think this was what Mr. Weirdo was saying. Are you afraid of succeeding? I think you WILL succeed. Truly. And you will come back and say, "I can't believe I ever doubted myself!"
