I read SOGR few years ago. I did the course and I moved on, occasionally visiting the forum.

Well, I recently started re-reading the book which I downloaded anew, and on the first page of chapter 2 I read the note in the margin:

"Be sure to note that the word certain has two meanings which both apply here:
1. specific or particular,
2. having no doubt,convinced, sure."

Suddenly it dawned on me. I'd always taken that doing things in a Certain Way meant doing them in a particular way - with gratitiude, in a non-competitive, creative way, without judging or criticizing others.

Of course all of that is part of the Certain Way, but the 'Aha' moment was the realisation that it also meant doing it with an attitude of absolute certainty, with absolutely no doubt as to the outcome, what you are setting about doing will happen, with absolute CERTAINTY....

Well it took me long enough to get there...

I LOVE this! I have had the house up for sale, and have started packing everything. Some people have asked "What are you packing for, you haven't even had an offer yet?" to which I answered "It's only a matter of time, so I figured I'll get a jump on it and be ready so that when whoever buys my house can move right in." Then I'll get replies like"Wow, good idea!" I am Certain that the house will sell soon, it is only a matter of when. Wink

You know, what's funny to me is that I put that margin note in the ebook because there were so many people reading the original one for whom English was not their first language and I thought it would be useful to them. But it's turned out to be extremely helpful for those of us who HAVE been speaking English all our lives. Big Grin

Glad you "got" it!

Love & blessings, and, of course--

Thank you Darrin, for reminding us of the two meanings.

Yes even though I "got" it the first time around, some very smart ideas in my brain, sometimes go hide in some dark corner Wink

God bless you,

Caroline

Julia, what a fabulous application of the Certain Way, I am so proud of you!

And thank you for sharing so we can all be inspired. Guess what? I am all packed and ready to move in so my house will show up any moment now Wink

God bless you,

Caroline

Hi Julia,

I am so excited about your house - there has been building momentum, especially since your trip to Arizona. I still have a strong vision of your works in the galleries there.

I was just remembering years ago not planning to move but I suddenly organised my things and cleared out the garage - guess what? I moved soon afterwards.

anyway, it's just so fantastic that all the things you want just keep on happening.

lots of love
Pauline

It's amazing all the different things we pick up the second, third and every other consequential time around. And all that time, NOT ONE THING CHANGED IN THE BOOK!

Obviously, the only other variable is that WE OURSELVES have changed; gained new perspectives; become better students, ready for higher insights - 'when the student is ready'.

Dazzer, your post is a GREAT reminder that as long as we are fully alive, we NEVER FINISH with this course.

All the best from Toronto,
Russ
