Hi All,
I have read the book and I also listen to the tapes everyday. I absolutely love the principles.

I was just wondering how people are finding the online course, and what sort of results you are getting.

My wife and I are looking at joining but would just like to get some feedback first.

Thanks in advance.

Take Care,
Michael Harrington

Hi Michael,

I've just started doing the course. So far I've loved some of it, it's really helped me work out what it is that I desire - and boy were there some surprises.

Now I'm at the stage where I'm getting frightened. Now I know what I really desire from life I have two choices - do nothing and be dissatisfied the rest of my days, justifying to myself why I didn't go for it. Or I can go for it and that is where I'm up to. There were certain things I thought I "knew" and was doing for my purpose, but the course has brought to my attention that I'm not really "doing" with my whole heart, mind and soul and so, unless I change my ways, I will not get what I desire. This scares me cause I've got to make a concious decision to change, and actually change not just say I will, and it's really stretching the comfort zone.

So yes, I would say the course is worthwhile if you are prepared to really think, really be honest with yourself, and have your fears brought to your attention - very uncomfortable believe me. But if I can get through this and create new habits (and thoughts) then I will attain my life's desires.

Hope this helps,

Allison.

I have been involved with the online course for just a couple of weeks. I have been reading and re-reading the book along with other similar books since June of this year. I would recommend the course because it helps solidify the book along with providing focus.

I began this journey of discovery to improve my part-time business into a full time occupation. I hope that you join us.

Thanks Guys,
I am definitely going to do the course. I should be able to start in a couple of days.

It is great to be working with positive minded people. There is too much negativity around and meeting new people who are like minded will surely help.

Thanks again.

Take Care,
Michael Harrington

I am a new user. There are two concerns that I have regarding what I have read in the "Intro" to the book.
One, Is the book based on "Hindu" beliefs?
Two, Do we know anything about Mr. Wattles own fincancial condition? Are the conclusions merely "deduced from the conclusions of philosophy" as stated?
Any insight or direction is much appreciated.

Doc

Dear Doc

I'd say the bit in SOGR's intro just means that the author believed in the "monistic" theory of the Universe, which he also said is a part of Hindu beliefs.

I've read SOGR a number of times and there's nothing in it to suggest that it's got any basis in Hinduism. The book doesn't conflict with Christianity either, in any way that I could tell.

As for as Mr. Wattles' personal wealth - articles about his life say he experienced failure after failure until he was elderly. He then put the SOGR principles into good use and was an "advancing man" until he died shortly after writing several books. There doesn't appear to be any mention about whether or not he actually became wealthy as a result of all this - so perhaps people can draw their own conclusions?

I personally think SOGR principles do work and would say that the "secret" is to maintain high levels of gratitude to God/formless substance, and to ensure that life is lived in such a way that positive emotions are maintained for longer periods than negative emotions on a daily basis.

(You could check out another free book on the Internet called "Prosperity" by Charles Fillmore. It goes into more depth about the formless substance - and about God’s relationship to the formless).

Good luck!

Steve

Hi Doc,

I am taking the course and have read the book numerous times in addition to listening to the tapes. I absolutely love the book and I am totally convinced these principles if properly put into effect will cause one to get rich. I did not say it would be easy however, just very doable.
As far as Mr. Wattles being rich I have read something from his daughter who said that in the last three years of his life that he made lots of money and had good health except for his extreme fraility. His life was truly The Powerful Life. Hope this helps.
