okay, I'm having a hard tiime with this one. I know two things that I want like RIGHT now. I want a vacuum that works, has hepa filter and has strong suction. We all need it especially with allergy season coming up. anyways.

and secondly, I want to sell my sewing cabinet.

my problem is do I keep my focus through visualisation? do I visualize it at night? do I look at pics of what I want or imagine my sewing cabinet gone?

or do I uses statements, like "thank God I have a vacuum that has a hepa filter and strong suction"?

which one or all the above?

Hi Brenna,

I suggest you practice FEELING like you’d feel, if you had your sewing cabinet sold for a decent price, and how you’d feel if you already owned the vacuum cleaner you want, in some very good way.

“The Universe is responding to how you FEEL.” Esther Hicks [emphasis mine]

“Enter at once into full enjoyment of the things you want,…” See Chapter 8 of SOGR. It’ll give you more details of this.

An addendum I’d also suggest is you add, “This or something even BETTER, for the good of all.”

And, let me add, from what I understand, it's not the WORDS you use that are important. What's important is the FEELING you evoke. For example, if you say, "Thank God I have the vacuum I want,..." ask yourself, How would I feel IF this were already true? and get into that feeling.

And, don't concern yourself with 'how' it will show up. The 'how' is what the Universe takes care of, though you need to pay attention. For example, if you 'just so happen' to see a contest with the exact vacuum cleaner as a prize, you might want to enter it. Or, if you know how much the vacuum is, don't be too surprised to get an unexpected check that just covers it.

Years ago, I read about a lady who was learning spiritual principles, and she wanted a bedroom headboard that cost over $200, money she didn’t have. But she did her best to ‘claim’ it, and one day, for no apparent reason, she said she got a hunch to drive down a street that she rarely took. As she did, she saw the headboard she wanted sitting by the curb. The people were getting rid of it, leaving it for someone to pick up, but they told her she could have it.

Also, a few years ago, when we didn’t really have the money, my son wanted a car. As it turned out, some friends of his grandparents gave him a car, and they paid about $600 to fix it, before giving it to him.

So, you never know how the Universe will deliver what you want. From what I understand, you just have to get yourself into 'receiving mode' as opposed to lack or 'not having' mode.

From what I understand (and practice, and seem to get good results with) you need to 'practice' getting into those good feelings, while keeping the intent for what you want.

I just had a friend tell me how something similar 'fell into his lap'. He was given the 'chore' of helping clean out a relatives' house, to prep it for sale. He went with a good attitude and it turned out they gave him a bunch of stuff to sell via a garage sale, and he said he made an easy $550.

Attitude (how you feel) seems to be a big ingredient.

Brenna,

I hope someone else chimes in, but in the mean time,...

Here's what I think. How would you genuinely feel if you got what you want, in some good way? Or, how would you WANT to feel? Would you want to feel good? Would you want to feel pleased, and happy and relieved and glad that it all worked out fine?

Now, I suppose you 'could' just as well feel guilty. If so, then I suppose it would be good for you to get (work it out in your thinking) to where you're perfectly ok with it all working out easily. You know the saying, "If it isn't hard, it isn't worth it."? Well, there's another saying: "Easy does it."

Or, as Rebecca Fine asks, "Are you ok with it being easy?" Or, something like that.

I've had things come VERY easy, and, yes, it can take some getting used to,... but I sorta like it.

Phil

I'm only chiming in because Phil wanted someone to - but he seems to be doing a great job answering your questions.

Feeling relieved and at ease is WONDERFUL - I think. I feel like I can breathe again when I remember and feel those feelings. I think of going outside on a summer day, climbing into the hammock on the front porch with a tall glass of ice water - absolutely nothing to do but count the money I received from selling my sewing machine and admire my shiny new vacuum cleaner. WHAT a GREAT FEELING! Life is SO good Smile Woohoo!

well, thats how I'd feel. I would feel so relieved to have my sewing cabinet out of the house - that would be one NOT totally childproof thing out of my appartment. and it would be so relieving to actually have a vacuum that has great suction and hepa filter qualities you have no idea. it would be so great. then I wouldn't have to wory so much about my childrens pica, and its would be easier, god willing on our allergies this summer. cuz in AK, we have glacier dust. and all the dust from the underbrush that comes out when spring breaks up the ice and snow, and blah, blah, blah

anyways. those are my feelings.

thanx so much for the replies

Brenna, another point is your attachment to the idea, if you can FEEL the way Phil is describing and totally let go of the outcome, really knowing, that it is coming to you in the right way and time. How about a couple of examples?

My husband is a Mazda man. We've had several in a row. But a few years back, he was looking at cars, and I asked him, hey, why don't we consider a Honda? I gave him a few reasons and he looked at a few and kept looking at Mazdas. I always thought it would be cool/nice to have a Honda, so I suppose I felt that. And then, I just completely forgot about it.

We went shopping for cars. And we drove all over. No Mazdas to be found. Other brands he didn't like and one really snazzy Honda. It was his choice, so I remained unattached, whatever he wanted, but I really liked the Honda. Guess what he ended up driving for several years? And the next car, which I totally didn't care about? Mazda!

Vehicle story 2. We were shopping for a 12 passenger van for our 9 passenger family. We shopped leisurely for months to get a feel for what we wanted and the prices. At one point I took a piece of paper and wrote down exactly what I wanted. Color, distance to pick up vehicle, features, price, everything I could think of. Then I set the paper down and forgot about it. I was excited to get a van, but I did not

quote:
take exercises in concentration, nor to set apart special times for prayer and affirmation, nor to “go into the silence,” nor to do occult stunts of any kind.

I didn't even regularly contemplate my CMI. I just knew we needed a van, that we were shopping for a van, and the perfect one would show up.

And it did. Right color, right features, right location, right price. Only two things I did not get and the one was a very rare thing, the other we added later, and we got several other things I hadn't thought of! Something even better than I had imagined.

Some time later, I was cleaning things and came across the paper I had written everything down on. WOW! That was cool.

Now to apply to every situation. Yep, that's the SCIENCE of getting rich.

Brenna, there is no "supposed to" involved. You feel whatever you feel DEPENDING ENTIRELY on what you're thinking.

That's what feelings are: Indicators of thought. They never lie; they always show you exactly where you're focusing your attention.

This is why it's important to pay attention -- to notice the feelings so you can shift your attention to the direction you WANT to go.

But here's the thing: There's really no point in asking ANYONE else what you should feel or think. No one else can know that. But that's great because you have your own internal guidance -- those emotions, feelings again -- that are there for you every waking moment. You never have to wonder if this thought you're focusing on right now is useful or not.

And that's another point: There's no "good" or "bad" here. There's only what works or not so much, only what feels better and what feels worse.

All the answers are right there inside you -- and that's true for each of us. So the key is to start noticing, to become aware, and then to PRACTICE shifting our thinking to something -- anything -- that feels lighter, freer, better.

We don't have to think of something we want and concentrate on it. We just have to not push it away by clinging to thoughts that make us feel bad about it (or about anything, really).

Relax into this, play with it, let it be easy, let it be fun. (Because it really IS once you get the hang of it.) Wink

EXPECT Success!

okay, thanx so much for the replies. this makes a lot of sense. I think I tried this a while back - after I had kidz I needed some skirts and I think I made one statement of some kind, or wrote it down or something - and a couple of weeks later a sister was going through some of her clothes, and gave me some of her skirts.

I'll have to get back into it. thanx.

Hi All,

This is an excellent thread, thanks Op and contibutors.

I hope you don't mind a question - I don't mean to hijack this thread.... I'm working to create a home business online, and the first thing I want to do is give someone close a check (cheque) for a sum of money.

I'm 100% certain that I will create success with my venture in 2011 and that I WILL give that check. Should I therefore "FEEL" the success of my business, OR "FEEL" giving the check. I guess they are kind of mutually compatible objectives anyway? Thanks

Why not feel both? They are both things that make you feel good, right? So have fun imagining both of them Smile

Here's a CMI story for us all to ponder.

THE OSTRICH

A man walks into a restaurant with a full-grown ostrich behind him.

The waitress asks them for their orders.
The man says, "A hamburger, fries and a coke," and turns to the ostrich, "What's yours?"

"I'll have the same," says the ostrich.

A short time later the waitress returns with the order. "That will be $9.40 please."

The man reaches into his pocket and pulls out the exact change for payment.

The next day, the man and the ostrich come again and the man says, "A hamburger, fries and a coke."

The ostrich says, "I'll have the same."

Again the man reaches into his pocket and pays with exact change.

This becomes routine until the two enter again. "The usual?" asks the waitress.

"No, this is Friday night, so I will have a steak, baked potato and a salad," says the man.

"Same," says the ostrich.

Shortly the waitress brings the order and says, "That will be $32.62."

Once again the man pulls the exact change out of his pocket and places it on the table.

The waitress cannot hold back her curiosity any longer. "Excuse me,sir. How do you manage to always come up with the exact change in your pocket every time?"

"Well," says the man, "several years ago I was cleaning the attic and found an old lamp. When I rubbed it, a Genie appeared and offered me two wishes. My first wish was that if I ever had to pay for anything, I would just put my hand in my pocket and the right amount of money would always be there."

"That's brilliant!" says the waitress. "Most people would ask for a million dollars or something, but you'll always be as rich as you want for as long as you live!"

"That's right..Whether it's a gallon of milk or a Rolls Royce, the exact money is always there," says the man.

The waitress asks, "What's with the ostrich?"

The man sighs, pauses and answers, "My second wish was for a tall chick with long legs who agrees with everything I say.."

My Dad sent that to me and I couldn't resist.

Love and blessings,
Rachel

OK, I can't resist another "animal" story -- and it's got aspects of creative mind and financial abundance, too. Here goes:

A mangy-looking guy goes into a bar and orders a drink. The bartender says, "No way, pal. I don't think you can pay for it."

"You're right," the guy says, "I don't have any money, but if I show you something you've definitely never seen before will you give me a drink?"

"What the heck," says the bartender. "You're on."

So the guy reaches into his coat pocket and pulls out a hamster. He puts the hamster on the bar and it runs to the end of the bar, down the side of the bar, across the room, up the piano, onto the keyboard -- and starts playing Gerswhin.

"You're right. I've never seen anything like that before," says the baffled bartender, shaking his head. "That hamster is amazing. Here's your drink."

The guy downs the drink and then asks the bartender for another.

"Will that be cash or another miracle, pal?"

"Watch this," replies the guy.

Again, he reaches into his coat but this time he pulls out a frog. He puts the frog onto the bar, and the frog starts to sing. The frog has a marvelous tenor voice, rivaling Pavarotti. Everyone in the bar listens in stunned silence.

As the song comes to an end, a stranger from the other end of the bar runs over to the guy and offers him $300 for the frog.

"It's a deal," says the guy. He takes the $300, hands the stranger the frog, and the stranger runs out of the bar.

"Are you nuts?" cries the bartender. "You just sold a singing frog for $300? It could have been worth millions. You must be crazy."

"Not so," says the guy.

"The hamster is a ventriloquist."

Big Grin (Hey, it could happen.)
