Not my words exactly, but close! What I wrote was that some of the things I like about being a business owner are "the fun of the 'game'(where you keep score with $), the constant creativity, and on and on. For me, it's FUN." Just to clarify: That score-keeping doesn't involve anyone else at all. It's just about improving as I go along. "I do not try to dance better than anyone else. I only try to dance better than myself." --Mikhail Baryshnikov Love & blessings, and, of course-- EXPECT Success! Rebecca

Dear all, I just popped in to see some remarks and I thought and hoped that maybe I have inspired a couple of people. I am so amazed and blown away for the dozens of messages you had written!! Your support messages and inspired statements were so uplifting, it made my month! I thought I was giving, I ended up getting a lot more in return. It is a privelage to see all the Master and Super Contributors responding like that. I humbly thank you for making me feel more alive when you considered me an inspiration. I read all the messages carefully and I wanted to add some input in response to the comments and to the messages, and also to update everyone on the situation: First of all, Hydiamond and TanyaZ, a bit about faith to help you get there faster and easier. The one thing that you don't have to put effort in, is HAVING Faith. It comes naturally and is driven by the gut feeling and dreams you have for your better future. The thing you actually put the effort in and have to work on, is to get rid of all the DOUBTS and RATIONALIZING that has been bombarded into all of us throughout our lives. They are those that stifle faith and keep it in the background. All those times we were kids and aiming high, and parents, relatives, or older friends were trying to keep us "grounded" and telling us about the "Real World". All the proverbs of "stretch your legs as far as your quilt goes" and "a bird in the hand..." and "the tip of the tea plant gets chopped off first" just put our sub-conscious into a programmed conservative mode that it can't be this easy. All the thoughts that weaken the faith like "I'll have to work much harder", and "I'll need to focus my head on getting those things done rather than bogus hopes and dreams that would take me nowhere" are ways that your sub-conscious have been programmed to handle the human race disappointments. Dreams and hopes DO get you places, and your wildest desires can definitely happen. But as my life coach placed it so well: Think hard about what you want, and the actions will flow on their own. After you do the actions, "Let Go and Let God". THAT's faith, the faith that got Einstein through 10 years of arriving at proving the relativity theory even though he believed in it the very first day, the faith that got Nadia Comanche, the first gymnast to score a perfect 10 in the Olympics, to not only achieve it, but to pass it onto her apprentice, the 16 year old American gymnast who became the second to get it in 1984, and the same faith that got me where I am today. It IS like magic, as Wallace explained: believe in it and apply it without questioning its physics, and it will work. To Rebecca, it's so true what you said about your business, and this is part of my update. Since I published my story I shifted my focus towards working less and less and enjoying more of my time and enjoying imagining grander things for the business, and yes strangely the business works better. As a warning to others though this in no means saying that you'll click your fingers and the business will explode on its own from day one. What it means is that there will come a time on the business and you'll find that your time is spent on the nitty gritty hows most of the time, and the business will be suffering, THAT's when you'll need to just relax against your usual judgement and just let things work as they are while focusing on the better future. You'll find that you are 10 times more efficient in finding solutions because they'll simply pop up on their own thanks to your freed mind and spirit that is now cultivating the future, making it smoother, and because sub-consciously it is inspiring all your employees to solve their own problems and carry on in the path that you have imagined. Right now I work 5 hours per day half of which is almost playing, and the employees are much more alert, energetic and excited and they come to me with solutions on their own rather than frantically trying to keep up with my previous drill-sergent snap orders I was giving. To Bill and the others who had the question regarding the business being the how, the answer was greatly delivered already, I just had a couple of cents worth to add: The reason I wanted the business was not to make money, that was just a by-product of a happy fullfilled life. The reason is that I wanted THAT business to happen, and to deliver its good value to the people. Like Wallace's example in the book, I WANTED to sell guns to those rural hunters so that they can enrich their lives when they get more squirrels easier, so to speak. When I wrote the vision statement of my dream business, I wrote a secret long-term goal for myself which was as follows: "to build a conglomerate of enterprises that create products and services that will enrich people's lives in every way possible, so that it may benefit the enterprise, the consumer, the people working in it, as well as the communities in which it operates." The money is just part of the wealth, and naturally if you are seeking riches, you'll think of general methods. That's not dwelling on the "How". The negative dwelling we try to steer away from is when you forget about the goal and stop yourself from trying because you don't know the "how" yet!! SO what the book is saying is that to just go ahead with your goal, in faith, and let the "how" come to you as you go along, for it will come to you when you need it just like the startup capital, the people to help you, the place to start it, the opportunity, and the process. If your dream is to be a professional golfer because you love it so much, keep the faith and the end goal in sight, and you'll bump into someone who'll get you in a club, and you'll bump into someone who'll mentor you, and you'll drop your keys and bend to pick it up right at the bulletin board where there's a competition announced, where you'll play and a higher coach will see you play and ask you to go pro under his guidance. It will happen, just like I always tease my investing partner that we started the business thanks to him having an accident with his sports car and that's how we met, at the garage!!! Where talking about it got us to know each other better, and when I pitched to him the idea he got an offer to buy the car as is the very next day and therefore he had the cash to invest. The how will come to you on its own. I would say: Have faith, and you'll be served by its younger brother, fate. Speaking on not dwelling on how and that it comes naturally to you, myself and my subordinate manager just fired our high and mighty international marketing firm and started doing things on our own, with much better results. The account director at the marketing firm was the equivilent of a highly decorated army officer, having some range of PhD's and 30 years of experience in our industry. Strangely enough we outpaced the outsourced team when I am 30 years in total age and my subordinate manager is 24 and this was his first job! What Wallace taught us is more than just making money, it is how to make the good life, and I am so thankful and grateful for it every day. Thank you all for inspiring me back more than I thought. Be well, no... be GREAT! P.S. I just booked a new SL55 AMG sports convertible mercedes, will pick it up next week. Cheers everyone

Thank you Sam and Rebecca, you have answered some questions I have been grappling with and asking. AS i read these posts some niggling doubts have instantly gone; my business vision has become clear as day; and you have reminded me to get back to basics. I have up until now been caught up with basics, feeing guility because i don't want to get caught up in nitty grityy and working long days and weeknds- sudden permision to be okay with working smart. that empire can be built with fun, laughter, enjoyment and enough time to do all the other things I love. wow.....its like the bubble burst and I feel free to fly again. Bless you all. Love and light JO

Hello Sam, CONGRATULATIONS!! and thank you for sharing your success story with us. Though I read it on the 10th when you first posted, that time part of my mind was closed and I did not know what to say. And that is ok because there were others who knew. Congratulations with your excellent results and thank you for sharing how you did it, you helped me to think better thoughts. And I am thrilled at the discussion which followed. Rebecca reminded me of one thing in my life that I had labeled Impossible. This is about a very difficult relationship and I had given up all hope that it would ever become better. Duh! I was meddling with the how. From now on, I will be grateful for the wonderful relationship and let God deal with the how. My second eureka! is a variation on the same theme. My lack of focus has been my stumbling block, up to now. I don't know if I want to be a business owner and guess what? my lack of faith gave lack of consistent results. I just discovered that I don't really care about the employee vs business owner. What I really want with all of my heart, is to work in a position where I can use all of my talents to be of excellent service to others. To be a little more specific, to work where I can use my analytical and coaching skills combined to teach other people how to become all of who they are meant to be. And in a position also where I will always continue to learn and grow because that is the only way that I can become all of who I am meant to be. Earning enough money to be able to do and have everything I desire. Thank you God for showing me the errors in my thinking. I am grateful that I am working in a position where I can use all of my talents to make this a better world for all and where I want for nothing. Life is so good! Caroline

Hi Ya'll, This is my first post, so please unterstand that "up until now" I have been computer challenged. Therefore I am taking a great leap of faith to do this post. Rebecca, thank you from the bottom of my heart. "Up til now" I have not been able to fully understand all that Mr. Wattles was trying to convey in SOGR. However, through your program I am begining to see changes in myself. The thing I am most grateful for is the opportunity to show my kids a new way of thinking. I hope that they will learn from me the principles I am developing through SOGR. As the mother of 5 children, I am always looking for better ways to parent my children. I have really had to adjust my thinking, and I know that my new way of thinking will prove be be a wonderful blessing for my children and my husband. I want to share with you one of the things I am incorporating into my life because of you. I have started writing a thank you note to a person who has influenced me everyday. I printed out a calendar, and put a different name for each day. So far I already have enough names for the next two months and I haven't even gotten to anyone famous yet. I'm still on family, friends, and teachers from years ago. I'll keep you posted on how it works out. I have already benefited from the exercise because I am thinking about people I love and how they have been a blessing to me. What a great way to spend some quiet time. Best Always, Laura

I posted this message in August last year and followed Rebecca's example applying it to two close relative that I only see 2-3 times a year. I created a picture of what I wanted then I let it go. . . Now, one of them is reading SOGR type books and sharing amazing results with me (better than I imagined)! I have plans to see the other relative in 3 weeks and I'm excited because I know the visit will also be better than I could have imagined. Thank you, Rebecca, for sharing your experience. I had a little slump going on there Sam... you have saved me! I was in Dubai last year at the Kempinski... isn't it just the most marvelous place. The architecture was amazing all over. I 'fixed' about six people in the hotel.... It was a holiday but ah well ... people get sick....and I made some lovely friends from it..... thanks again for the advice and the memory. Thank you Sam76 and everyone else for your posts. This post came to the fore at the absolutely right time for me in view of several "issues" I am dealing with in my life at the moment. The past few days I have been giving energy to what I didn't want I am practising gratitude by writing in my gratitude journal almost everyday, and practising forgiveness too. Rebecca, your post about the improvements in one of your relationships was most helpful. Sometimes I think that life would be so much more wonderful without certain people. Thanks and ever thanks, everyone. "Nothing is too wonderful to be true." - Michael Faraday

Thank you Sam and all who replied here. This post started in August 2005. I got the answers I needed at that time and have recently found myself needing to be "reminded" of them again. How soon we forget!! Thank you Formless. I needed this NOW! Bill of Conshohocken "Living Large and Loving Life!"

Congratulations and thank you for sharing. I am in the same industry. It's good to know that "more life to all and less to none" works in our arena. For some reason, hearing of your actual results makes it more exciting to concentrate on my CMI. Again, thanks Sam76! Barefootking...

Have just read this for the first time. It has been a very timely reminder. I have been slipping in my focus and faith and I still don't have a clear mental image. I seem to change my mind so often, don't seem to know what I want. Think I do but then realise that that's not it. This post has been really inspiring. Thankyou. Stephanie

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum and the course. However, I'm not new to the eastern philosophy of cause/effect, and creative visualization/meditation. That is probably why this resonated with me. I'm hoping that this course will teach me more about APPLYING the technique. I need practical direction. I can all ready see how this can be applied to much more than money (relationships, health, etc.) Up until now, I have had trouble "getting my mind right". I hope I can find a way to do so.
