For some time now I have been trying to get a friend of mine to create a CMI (baby steps) of his own.
I have found it very hard when I talk to people to say what it is they want to have people think that they cannot have whatever they want.
About 3 months ago I did this with my friend that day he was very very angry with his life and his situation. I know my friend believes in God so instead of writing it down and calling it a CMI we knelt down together and said a prayer to God asking God for this one important thing that my friend wanted above all other things. Anyway today I see my friend who lives with my brother and his wife he is actually my brother in law ie my brothers wifes brother.
Anyway about 2 weeks ago his prayer or CMI eventuated he was recanting the story and he was extremely delighted that it happened. When I pointed out that we had prayed for it (or cmi'ed it) he quickly started saying but its not like that blah blah blah if it wasnt for this and it wasnt for that it would not have happened etc. At this point I simply stopped and smiled as I knew this whole incident was not only for my friend but for my benefit as I witnessed the power of the universe in action.

We are such funny animals, aren't we, Steve? We get what we desired and then we come up with so many reasons why it was just coincidence or something totally external.

I wonder how or why he thinks "this" and "that" happened?

It's just like Wally says: When your desire is clear and you aren't resisting it mightily, it shows up BUT it usually doesn't just appear in a puff of smoke. Someone -- or more likely, several someones -- have ideas that all link together and, voila! YOUR desire is created.

To me, one of the most fun parts of this whole science of getting rich is that, with willingness, intention, and a bit of practice, pretty soon our whole way of seeing the world and what goes on is transformed and we CAN see that all those connections -- even the ones we know nothing about -- all come together in seemingly miraculous ways. So much fun to notice, so much gratitude and appreciation!

BTW, I think you are right on the money NOT to try to persuade this fellow or anyone else of anything. That's totally THEIR business and not yours, and getting caught up in that is not only pointless, it puts YOUR focus on lack.
