I am so thankful to have read the chapter on Gratitude. I have read the book a couple of time but never really applied the philophies until a couple of days ago. And what was amazing to me was the small result that i have gotten. Now I am confident that having gratitude really works.
Before reading and applying gratitude in my life, I would handle a lot of my situations in a very negative way. I was constantly beating myself up because i thought i was not smart enough or passionate enough to get things done. I also have a long track record of not getting things done as well. Now I have a glimps of what is possible if i continue to apply the teachings of the book.
About 3 days ago my phone was shut off because I didnt pay the phone bill. I was very upset because I have so many expenses to pay and I need the phone very badly. Usually, i would just be upset at myself for getting myself into these types of situations but this time around I wanted to try something different this way of thinking hasnt helped me yet. So what I decided to do was to tell myself that I was going to pay this phone bill. From there, I willed myself to constantly thank God for the situation that I am in because I know that it is going to make me into a better person. I have done this successfully for two days. One the second day, on my way out to work, I enlighted thought just hit me like a ton of bricks. It was the solution to my problem. And note, I only told myself 3 to 4 times within those two days that i was going to get my bill paid. The rest was just being thankful for everything around me. And the next morning, my bill was paid. The solution was so simple and surprising. I knew from there that the book is no joke.
I realized that when you are in a good mood all the time, that is when the creative forces work the best, and thats whensolutions are attracted to you. It was so amazing to me because at that point when it hit me, i wasn't thinking about getting my bills paid. I was thanking God for giving me another 24 hours to live. It was absolutely astonishing to me because in previous situations, this enlightenment never occured. And that was because I wasnt grateful. Now I can't wait to see what else gratitude can do for me.

Jomilig,

Thanks for sharing this experience...it helps me remember to FOCUS on solving what needs to be done (paying the phone bill) and being grateful for all that I have: life, health, love, work... etc.

I believe that kind of FOCUS makes way for the "solution" to flow to you with ease (and sounds like-with speed as well!)

Warmly,

Romy :-)
