"As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." - Proverbs 23:7

We know itâ™s one thing to simply think about something. We also know itâ™s another to FEEL it. When a person âthinketh in his heartâ they FEEL their thought in their body and mind. This is what feelings or emotions are; they are the physically felt sensations of our BELIEFS, or what we âthinketh in our heart.â™

And what we âthink in our heartsâ™ is what we experience. And itâ™s more than just a Present Moment experience. It is what we are sowing and reaping. These âthoughts of our heartâ™ is what we will experience consequences for. This is what we are engaging the Universe in. This is what we are commanding the Universe to give us more of.

So, what thoughts are in your heart? Simply,⦠What are your prevailing FEELINGS?

Are you full of feelings of Peace, Love, Delight, Wonder and Well Being? No? Then, isnâ™t it in your best interests to GET yourself to experience these kinds of states or feelings?

As Oprah said, âWe always, always reap what we sow.â What are you sowing?

Or, as the famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright has said, âThe thing always happens that you really believe in; and the belief in a thing makes it happen.â And you can know what you REALLY believe, by simply observing how you are feeling. We feel what we believe, and we believe what we feel.

âEverything is falling apart.â

âEverything is coming together.â

Which of these two statements do you feel is true for you? Which point of view, in your heart, do you experience?

Now, at any instance, notice that you cannot PROVE either one. They are simply personal beliefs, or perspectives. These perspectives donâ™t rely on what your physical senses can perceive. For example, you could be in the midst of physical abundance and still feel poorly. Or, you could be in the midst of an apparent mountain of difficulties and feel completely at peace, experiencing delight and great well being, fully expecting things to turn out wonderfully. Isnâ™t this apparent to you?

Which ever way you feel is up to you.

Or, take another set of statements: âNothing I do matters.â âEverything I do matters.â

Again, do you see that, at any given moment, you cannot PROVE either one? But, as we are always Reaping and Sowing, can you see how each has certain potential and certain consequences?

Every time you fuel a good feeling you are changing the course of your life. Can you see this?

Now, I know some of you believe, âBut I canâ™t help the way I feel about some things, some conditions or some people.â If this is you, then at least consider these thoughts:

âWe create our own heaven or hell. Your thoughts can imprison you or set you free. Complications, conditions or people do not upset you, but the way you think about them causes your upset. Freedom is not possible until we discipline and retrain our minds.â
p. 124 of Choose To Live Peacefully by Susan Smith Jones, Ph.D.

âIf you say, âI just canâ™t help the way I feel,â you will only make yourself a victim of your misery ~ and youâ™ll be fooling yourself, because you can change the way you feel.
If you want to feel better, you must realize that your thoughts and attitudes--not external events--create your feelings. You can learn to change the way your think, feel, and behave in the here-and-now.â - from The Feeling Good Handbook by Dr. David Burns

âWhen you feel frustrated or upset by a person or a situation, remember that you are not reacting to the person or the situation, but to your feelings [beliefs] about the person or the situation.â - from The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success by Deepak Chopra

âOther people can neither make us miserable nor make us happy.â - p.3 of Choice Theory by William Glasser, M.D.

âWe either make ourselves miserable or we make ourselves strong. The amount of work is the same.â -- Don Juan in Journey To Xtlan

What do you think? Are YOU responsible for how you feel or not? And if you think you are NOT responsible, are you right, or are you merely misleading yourself, and giving away your Personal Power? Yes, you may need to work or get help to get yourself feeling how you WANT to feel. But consider the WORTH of doing this kind of âworkâ™. (And imagine this: The better you get at feeling better, the better things will go in your life, which will make it easier to feel better, which will make things flow even better in your life. Sure, there may be âbumpsâ™ in the road, but even THESE do not determine how you feel. Isnâ™t this so?)

Isnâ™t it worth your while to drop all your reasons for why you MUST feel anything less than TERRIFIC?

Can you see there really are NO hard, physical barriers between you experiencing terrific, wonderful feelings, today, right NOW?

WOW--Phl, I can't believe you know so much about me and exactly what I needed to hear!!!
I too am in the midst of a career change--actually being forced out of my position--which is a blessing. Thx for being there when I needed you.

Jean

BTW, Intellectually I know my thoughts create my reality--I just need to believe it and put into practice.
